Come and relax in the Somerset countryside, staying in our very comfortable barn conversion, Cow Cottage. The cottage has an open fireplace, as well as central heating. Situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, on the edge of the village of Langford, Cow Cottage is a semi-detached single storey converted barn with wooden beams and open fire. Convenient for A38 and M5 but well away from the main road. The cottage is very spacious for two, but can sleep four by using the fold-out sofa bed. Large living/dining room and a separate kitchen. Bedroom with queen-size bed. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. 2 steps in hall. The spectacular Cheddar Gorge is only 5 miles away. A wonderful few days stay at Cow Cottage, for a family of 2 adults and two teenagers. Zoe and Ian were so welcoming, (the homemade cakes and refreshing teas a very big bonus after a 4 hour journey!), and the cottage was a real cosy home from home with everything we needed for our stay catered for. We stayed during storm Eunice so were holed up inside for a lot of the time, which was fine in our little borrowed home, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future to explore more of the local area and visit family. In close proximity to Cheddar, Weston-super-mare, Burnham on Sea and Clevedon to name just a few places. Thank you all once again for a lovely stay

Excellent place to stay for a visit to Somerset and the surrounding area. This is for all "seasons". The cottage has a great selection of maps and information about the area. There are local shops and restaurants all high quality. The cottage is very clean and well equipped for any stay.

Good points: * hosts very friendly and welcoming * good location for visiting lots of nearby towns and tourist attractions * very reasonably priced * house very well appointed with lots of things provided * mostly quiet and calm * nice open fire and logs provided Bad Points: * no carpets, some rugs but otherwise very sharp coconut matting which is painful underfoot - bring slippers or suffer! * better for a couple, sleeps up to four but not really enough furniture for four people. * heating controlled by owners from their property next door. You have to request heating and was very cold when we first arrived but much warmer on the second day. * very dated and cluttered, clean on surface but very dirty under furniture and skirting boards black with dust. Didn’t really bother me but spending a bit of money on updating would benefit owners as they could charge more money. * if you’re a light sleeper a local cockerel (not owners’) will have you up well before daybreak. 4.30am, 5am etc! Overall it was ok for a short stay. I would recommend for a couple on a budget.

Joined the in-laws here from Boxing Day in this quaint cottage after their stay beginning from Christmas Day. Locate nicely in Langford, near Churchill and close to a local convenience store (Budgens) the property itself was tucked away nicely down Ladymead Lane, just off off Pudding-Pie Lane. Easy drive from here into areas like Weston-Super-Mere, Clevedon and Burnham-on-Sea. Ideal for a stay over the festive period. Well decorated with Christmas tree and other touches around the property. Had a sofa bed for us as this is a one bedroom accommodation, but full bedding is provided as well as towels. Cow Cottage owners are very polite, approachable and even negotiated an extra nights stay for us at a reduced rate. The only downside to the property was the cleaning standards. Lots of cobwebs (lots) behind the main bed and throughout little looks and crannies in the cottage, which was a shame. Would recommend none the less as overall a thoroughly pleasant stay.

Thanks so much for your review and pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for the cobwebs, obviously overlooked them down behind the headboard! I'm glad you found the cottage clean in all other respects. Do come again, and happy new year.

Our second stay here, and just as nice. Everything we needed including a lovely welcome tray, comfy bed, helpful owner next door and a friendly cat! The village is quiet (though the cockerels wake early!) There is easy access to many lovely places (Bath, Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare, Portishead Marina, Clevedon) and lots of National Trust places around. There are village pubs within walking distance, but we preferred The Plough at Wrington (a short drive or a long walk!) Many thanks, we'll be back.

A very sympathetic conversion of a cow barn in the country but close to all amenities. A warm welcome was given with a complimentary tray with home made cake and several varieties of tea available. The cottage had all the home comforts and lots of storage space without losing its charm. The local Crown Inn served real ale and the best food we have sampled for a long time. A car is essential but lots of areas to explore close by. Not to be missed!

Sehr empfehlenswert! Wir würden jederzeit wieder hinfahren!
