Villa
One bedroom romantic villa in countryside setting on the North Eastern coast of Sardinia, approximately 3KM from the sea and village. The villa has been renovated to a high standard and is comfortable and full of character, with a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, TV, CD and DVD players, mosquito blinds to keep cool at night, patio furniture and integral outside barbecue etc. It is set in an enclosed 2 acre garden, planted with a variety of Mediterranean trees, shrubs and flowers. The garden is surrounded by farm land and olive groves with dramatic views of mountains. It is the perfect place for people who want to enjoy the famous beaches with white sands and clear turquoise water that Sardinia has to offer, but avoid the summer crowds by relaxing in a secluded environment.

We were delighted to revisit Overy for a sixth time this year, first stay in 2004 we have seen how the property has been skilfully extended and new planting lovingly nurtured. Set within a tranquil landscape in view of the mountains the shaded terraces with exotic furniture are ideal for quiet relaxation, perfect during the summer months. This year we discovered the beach at Posada which is situated within a UNESCO protected wildlife area with inland waterways perfect for Kayaking or beach time. We also ventured inland to Nuoro to see the interesting art galleries and graffiti town of Orgosolo. These along with old favourites of the stunning beach at Berchida, sunset café at St.Lucia where we stumbled across a local festival, boat trip to Cala Mariolu and the evening promenade in La Caletta gave us a fantastic stay… highly recommended for couples or small families.

Very calm and private house in the nature. Very good for relaxing and not to be surrounded by massa tourism in a nice area in Sardegna. House was very clean with a huge veranda and garden so very nice to sit outside during the day. Inside the house it is pretty basic, but clean and fine. Owners very friendly people and helpful and gave us very good and detailed information about the surroundings. The only thing that we missed was insect curtains, cause there were many and several of them, also inside the house, esp. at night.

Dealing with the landlord was a pleasure. Upon arrival we were made to feel more like family than guests. Location was great for traveling around to different sites and cities as we did. The house itself was very clean, comfortable and had all the equipment we'd want. We would not hesitate to go back. Couple in late 20's.

We enjoyed a great week in Efisio's villa in mid May(despite very mixed weather which was throughout Europe). We hired a car and drove from Olbia airport to La Caletta to meet Efisio's father who led us to the villa (only 5 mins away) and gave us a warm, helpful and friendly welcome. Our booking and enquiries were all dealt with perfectly by Efisio in the run up to our holiday. The villa itself is lovely, with everything we needed. The peaceful surroundings are beautiful, and the large garden and open space around the villa made it private, tranquil and sheltered. The patio areas are just perfect for relaxing in the sun; unfortunately we had a rather cloudy week, but were able to get outdoors at the slightest hint of sun! My husband enjoys cooking, and it was a real treat to be able to cook on logs in the large stone bbq, using fresh oregano from the garden. We ate outdoors every night apart from one and enjoyed listening to the distant goat bells echoing around the hills. We have visited Sardinia once before and chose to stay near La Caletta on this visit as we'd enjoyed the beaches - the nearest of which is only 10 minutes away by car. Efisio emailed us some notes, local info and sightseeing suggestions which were much appreciated; we explored the area to the south of La Caletta, although if the weather been warmer, I doubt we would have moved far from the villa! La Caletta had a good selection of restaurants although we didn't eat out as it was a treat to cook with fresh herbs and local fresh produce from the Sea Shop, which was justifiably recommended by Efisio. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the villa, and are already thinking about visiting again, preferably in the sun! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa as a peaceful, attractive and relaxing hideaway.

An absolute gem! My husband and I have just [reluctantly] returned, having spent two blissful weeks lounging around [both of] the ample terraces, sipping Sardinian wine, and relaxing to the blissful ringing of the goat bells all around. It really is the most magical place we have ever visited. In the morning, we watched the countless butterflies floating between flowers, and the occasional gecko racing across the terrace. The grounds were even more amazing than described, giving a total sense of seclusion from everything. We felt little inclination to move from our romantic hideaway, but, when we did, the nearby town, Siniscola, and villages of La Caletta and Posada offered us plenty to keep us entertained in the evenings The owners were exceptionally helpful before and during our stay - kindly providing us with an email outlining highlights of the area, including good places to eat and recommendations for beaches. We particularly loved Berchidda We will certainly visit again some time soon, hopefully even as early as next year! We have plenty more exploring to do. Many, many thanks:-)

This beautiful villa in the Sardinian countryside is the perfect place to escape to and forget about work and hectic city life. The villa is beautifully laid out, with a spacious bedroom and a wonderful outdoor verandah where we ate breakfast, drank fresh coffee in the evenings or simply lazed around on the sofas. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and has all the modern comforts. The setting is just perfect, close enough to the sea and white sandy beaches and the nearby towns, but far enough to be able to leave it all behind. The views of the mountains from the house are spectacular and the large garden is filled with palms and lots of little spots in which to escape. Picking fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden to make a fresh pasta sauce was a real novelty for me. There are lots of good places to eat in la Calette and Siniscola and the Sea Shop in La Caletta has the most amazing deli counter. The pictures on the web do not do this place justice at all. This villa is especially well suited to couples, especially if you want to spend some quality time together. My husband and I absolutely loved the villa and had one of our best holidays. We have recommended it to friends and family. Booking was hassle-free by email and the best recommendation I can give anybody is to say we didn't want to leave.

Having just returned from eight wonderful days in this villa my wife and I couldn't recommend it enough. The tranquility and panorama were superb. The villa was perfect and came fully equipped. We just loved sitting in the patios enjoying nature around us. The villa is truly secluded so a car hire is a definite requirement, however, the beach, I counted at least 4 nearby, is within easy reach and so are the shops, bars and restaurants

About the neighbourhood
The villa is set in farmland in a valley between the small town of Siniscola and the sea-side village of La Caletta, which is 3 km away (a five minute drive) & also has the nearest beach, although this stretch of the Sardinian coast offers numerous other amazing beaches. There are tourist boat trips from La Caletta to the stunning marine park of the Gulf of Orosei - see photos. La Caletta itself offers a wide range of restaurants where you can eat traditional Italian food, fresh sea food, or sample Sardinian cuisine and wine. There are several bars (all family-freindly), ice cream parlours and an evening street market in La Caletta in the summer months
