We enjoyed a great week in Efisio's villa in mid May(despite very mixed weather which was throughout Europe). We hired a car and drove from Olbia airport to La Caletta to meet Efisio's father who led us to the villa (only 5 mins away) and gave us a warm, helpful and friendly welcome. Our booking and enquiries were all dealt with perfectly by Efisio in the run up to our holiday.
The villa itself is lovely, with everything we needed. The peaceful surroundings are beautiful, and the large garden and open space around the villa made it private, tranquil and sheltered. The patio areas are just perfect for relaxing in the sun; unfortunately we had a rather cloudy week, but were able to get outdoors at the slightest hint of sun! My husband enjoys cooking, and it was a real treat to be able to cook on logs in the large stone bbq, using fresh oregano from the garden. We ate outdoors every night apart from one and enjoyed listening to the distant goat bells echoing around the hills.
We have visited Sardinia once before and chose to stay near La Caletta on this visit as we'd enjoyed the beaches - the nearest of which is only 10 minutes away by car. Efisio emailed us some notes, local info and sightseeing suggestions which were much appreciated; we explored the area to the south of La Caletta, although if the weather been warmer, I doubt we would have moved far from the villa!
La Caletta had a good selection of restaurants although we didn't eat out as it was a treat to cook with fresh herbs and local fresh produce from the Sea Shop, which was justifiably recommended by Efisio.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the villa, and are already thinking about visiting again, preferably in the sun! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa as a peaceful, attractive and relaxing hideaway.
