Holiday Rental House
Toll House is a romantic and unique holiday home. A listed former toll house, it is small yet enchanting, dating back to the 18th century. The property is on the quiet high street in the very friendly and attractive Somerset village of Nether Stowey which lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills, England's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is well supplied with 3 pubs, a post office, tea shop and grocery store. It is an ideal location for an outdoor break as the area is exceptional for walking, riding and the unspoilt countryside. The village's poetic history is well documented, being a former home of Samuel Taylor Coleridge where he wrote the famous Kubla Kahn and The Rime of The Ancient Marina. William Wordsworth also lived just three miles away. This holiday co...Toll House is a romantic and unique holiday home. We stayed here for bank holiday weekend, it is a lovely little house, very cosy and well equipped. The fridge was well stocked as was the fruit bowl there was enough food for us to enjoy picnics all weekend. It’s very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a visit to Dunster castle. We completed some lengthy walks in quantock hills which were beautiful. The village is friendly and inviting, we made friends with the locals and were even invited to a bbq. Fab place.

Stayed at the Toll House for two nights and it is a great little place with loads of character in a quiet village. The cottage is cosy and very well equipped with everything you need and a great complimentary hamper which includes all your essentials and the added bonus of chocolate and wine too. Ate at the local pub (Ancient Mariner) which was nice. Plenty of places to visit near by, and no shortage of nice walks with fabulous views. I would recommend it.
