Test your surfing skills here or if a novice take surfing lessons provided by the many local surf schools. Lough melvin, famous for trout fishing, is beside Domus Nostra. Within 100 metres of Domus nostra the lough empties into the Drowes river, a river renowned for salmon fishing. Moving west you can take a day trip to the bustling town of Sligo, home to world renowned poet W.B Yeats. On your journey in the same county you can visit the splendid beaches at Strandhill, Rosses Point, Streedagh and Mullaghmore. Take a trip northwest on The Wild Atlantic Way and visit Rossnowlagh beach, Donegal Castle, Glencolmcille and Sliabh Liag sea cliffs. These cliffs at their highest point are 601m above sea level, almost three times higher than the famous cliffs of Moher in county Clare. On return journey visit the fishing port of Killybegs and perhaps, if lucky, take home fresh mackerel for tea Approximately 5 miles east can cross the, 'border', into northern Ireland. Your crossing takes you to the village of Garrison on the shores of Lough Melvin. From there take the short journey to Enniskillen to do some shopping!
