A fantastic complex, silver reef, placed on the narrow part of the island, at frigate bay, ten minutes drive from airport.
From silver reef you reach the Caribbean Sea in ten minutes on foot, 15 minutes to the Atlantic side.
If you walk on the golf course paths you'll get to shops and restaurants in ten minutes.
So you have everything around you nearby which is ideal! Although,I suggest to rent a car and explore St kitts as it's beautiful.
Don't forget to visit nevis as it's a gorgeous gem, so unspoilt.
St Kitts is Still fairly undeveloped, like we like the Caribbeans to be. Super polite and friendly people and it's easy and quick to drive around.
But let's get to the apartment, number 6, hummingbird.
On the top floor, overlooking ocean and Caribbean Sea.
The apartment is pristine And if anything does not work or is missing, ask Jan, the owner, and ask the site manager, Tracy. They will do their best to help!
The two bedrooms are very spacious, bright, with plenty of storage space.
The two bathrooms are also spacious as well. One with bath and shower, the other with walk in shower.
The open plan kitchen, lounge, dining room is fabulous!! So much space and with big windows, you have fantastic views and also the lovely breeze.
Don't bother with air-conditioning, just keep the windows open, mosquito nets shut and that's it!!
Kitchen has everything you need.
We are foodie and we ate every evening in, we had all the pots and pans, perfect!!
The cooker and oven work a treat.
Fridge is huge and dishwasher is good and quiet.
The washer and separate drier work brilliantly and so quick.
The four of us, three adults and a child, loved the place.
The location is perfect, the silver reef complex feels very safe with 24 hours security, the three pools are gorgeous, staff are all very courteous and professional.
Silver Reef is occupied by long term rentals and locals and it feels so "at home".
It feels elegant, but not over the top!!
I would travel there tomorrow if I could!!
Tips for your stay.
Car rental, we found Bullseye car rental very good, courteous.
To get to nevis, get the seabridge at the south of the island, Mr Jones, the captain will take good care of you. It is 200ec per car with one driver, 50 ec per person, return trip.
Diving: choose prodive St kitts, a five star padi centre, great staff!!
Hiking: for Mt liamuiga don't bother with a guide, waste of money, get to North West of the island where the drive to get to the trail is clearly marked.
I would also recommend a rainforest walk.
Don't miss the Romney Manor with batik. There you can do a rainforest stroll, look at remains of rum factory and get the beautiful batik stuff.
The three hour long sugar train is not to be missed. It's expensive but so informative and fun!
The St George fortress is breathtaking.
In nevis, the botanical gardens are a slice of heaven on earth, Charlestown is a gem and pinney beach is really amazing.
So drive around, stop, talk to people, discover the federation add fall in love with it like we all have.
