About the neighbourhood
Within five minutes walk of Boathouse Cottage is Solva beach. At low tide it is a lovely walk which allows you to look back at Upper Solva with the Pembrokeshire coastal path at either side. At high tide it is a picturesque harbour with bobbing boats, kayaking and children crabbing. During the summer months Solva Quay is the setting for a variety of both children and adult regattas, with local and visitors encouraged to participate. There are opportunities for surfing, kite surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding at both Newgale and Whitesands Beaches just four to five miles from Boathouse Cottage. Both beaches have surf schools, equipment for hire and cafés. It is not always necessary to take the car and in the summer months there is a comprehensive network of buses around St Davids peni...
How to get there
Solva is a small coastal village at the heart of the St Davids peninsular in Pembrokeshire. It is eleven miles from Haverfordwest and three miles from St Davids . Panteg Farmhouse Cottage and Boathouse Cottage are both in Upper Solva, next door to each other. The Postal Address is: Panteg Road, Solva, Pembrokeshire SA62 6TN Approaching from the east drive towards and then through Haverfordwest and take the A487 signposted to St Davids. Go through a number of villages, past Newgale and three miles further on you will reach Solva. Drive through the village and the road takes you up a hill. Go past the Royal George pub on the left and 200m further on, on the right hand side, is Panteg Road (opposite the Memorial Hall). Travel along Panteg Road for about 50m and take the lane off to the right. Drive down the lane to the end and park.
