The Fifie is a stunning and deceivingly spacious ground floor holiday cottage apartment situated just a few steps from the picturesque harbour of St Monans, and the coastal path with Pittenweem and Anstruther in one direction and Elie and Lower Largo in the other - with the advantage of just being a 20 min drive from St Andrews. An immaculately presented apartment set in a Grade C listed building with red pan-tiled roof and thick stone walls. The accommodation is situated on one level with no steps in or to the Fifie. This is particularly beneficial to those of impaired mobility as all the rooms lead off from the large welcoming hall. From the hall is a large walk-in cupboard containing an Up-Right Freezer, Laundry items, Child's High Chair, Changing Mat and Travelling Cot. There is a full set of Golf Clubs and Tennis Rackets for the more energetic, as well as a folding picnic basket, and bucket and spades for those family days out. The lounge, with its engineered oak floor has ample seating for 6. It has a CD player with I-Pod docking facility, a 32 inch LED TV with Smart Blue-Ray player providing guests with access to Netflix accounts, including an ample selection of DVDs. It has a Wood-Burning fire (with child’s fire-guard if required). Leading to a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, Microwave, Slow Cooker and dining table. Bedroom 1 contains a double bed with an orthopedic memory mattress to ensure a good nights sleep, wardrobe and bedside cabinet. Bedroom 2 has two 3ft single beds with wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bedside table with hair dryer. Bedroom 3 has a double bed with sprung mattress with memory topper. A wall mounted 32inch Flat screen TV and Smart Blue-ray player providing guests with access to Netflix and Amazon accounts - including a selection of board games. There is hanging space for clothes and a computer workstation/desk. Bathroom - a modern tiled family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. The apartment is heated by full gas central heating, and has free fast Fibre Optic Wi-Fi internet. There is a telephone which accepts incoming calls. The accommodation provides a stylish, comfortable retreat whatever the season, with a glimpse of the harbour from the living room window. The spacious contemporary accommodation has been thoughtfully furnished for comfort and ease and is literally a minutes walk from the old harbour and sea front at St Monans, the smallest of Fifes East Neuk fishing villages. This quiet harbour village overlooks the Firth of Forth, having spectacular views across to North Berwick, The Isle of May and Bass Rock. From your front door you can explore the quaint streets and lanes, historic buildings, an old windmill that once powered the salt panning industry and an old 14th Century church, shops and restaurants, an award winning cafe and an excellent seafood restaurant overlooking the harbour. If fish is on your menu tonight, there are a number of sheds in the village selling freshly caught local sea food, or you can catch your own from the sea front! with two seafood restaurants just 5 minutes walk away. The Fife Coastal Path runs through the village, with historic castles, pretty fishing villages and many sandy beaches and coves to visit along the way. Activities for all interests locally: golf, 3 miles and St Andrews, sandy beaches, watersports, Art exhibitions, Sea Life Centre, historic houses and gardens. This area is famous for golf with more than 40 golf courses in Fife, from the famous fairways of St. Andrews to the more traditional links courses and beautifully landscaped parkland and heathland courses. This is a welcoming and comfortable retreat whatever the season. Nestled on the Fife coastal path it is a walker’s paradise. With so much going on why not make a point of staying at the Fifie during the many festivals, including: Pittenweem Arts Festival Aug Pittenweem, In a celebration of the visual arts, the festival takes place over nine days and hosts over 100 exhibitions including internationally known artists. Meet the artists and craft makers in galleries, homes, studios and public venues throughout the historic village and all within walking distance. These are all free. Ticketed evening events include music, films and artist’s talks. On the harbour, The Festival Marquee provides food and refreshments. You can walk the coastal track to Pittenweem from St Monans (1.5miles) in 30 mins. Or if you prefer to take the car, parking is easy at Pittenweem for a small fee and there is a free shuttle bus for the leg weary. St Monans Community Arts Festival Sep With a strong local community focus, this festival offers a range of concerts, history walks, visual arts displays and literary events. More

About the neighbourhood
Although the main shopping experience would be in St Andrews, Leven or Kirkcaldy there are ample facilities in the way of a Post Office, food stores, restaurants in St Monans, and surrounding local villages. If you want a holiday to relax and unwind with the family then the East Neuk and St Monans is the place to be. You can park the car up and forget about it, or visit the many attractions Fife has to offer. FEEL AT HOME..............AWAY FROM HOME
Getting around
By car is clearly the obvious mode of transport. However the Fife public transport is second to none. A Bus/Coach service can whisk you to St Andrews in about 35mins. There is a short haul to Leven, Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh from the bus stop just 6 mins from the Fifie. Take the bus and hop off on all the coastal villages such as Pittenweem, Anstruther, Crail, Kingsbarns and St Andrews.
