The Oat House is a lovely, converted barn on Ford End Farm, a working farm at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. Ivinghoe is close to the Ridgeway path, the Grand Union Canal and about ten minutes to Tring Station, which has rail links to London in 50 minutes. There is a watermill and fishing lake on site, under different ownership. The Oat House has two bedrooms, a galley kitchen which is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The separate dining room has a dining table which comfortably seats four. The lounge area has two large sofas, a dvd player, a televison with Freeview. The bedrooms are upstairs, the master bedroom has a king size bed which can unzip into two twin beds, and a wardrobe. The second bedroom also has twin beds. The family bathroom has a bath with hand shower over. Ample parking is available for tenants use. £20 worth of electricity is included in the rental for this property. Electricity cards are available to purchase if more electricity is required. Heating by electric radiators. There is a fishing lake on site, and arrangements can be made to use this. there is also a Watermill on site, Ford End Watermill. This little mill, recorded in 1616 but certainly very much older, was in use until 1963. Restored by volunteers, and now maintained and run by Ford End Watermill Society, it is the only remaining working watermill in Buckinghamshire with original machinery. It retains all the atmosphere of a small farm mill of the late 1800`s. An unusual feature is the sheepwash in the tailrace below the mill. Washing made the fleece easier to shear and increased its value. Stoneground wholemeal flour is on sale during milling demonstrations. This property may request damage deposit.More

Homely, spacious, great location
Highly recommend this property - well equipped, furnished to a high standard and spacious. We were pleasantly surprised by how close it is to some fantastic places to visit - a walk down the Grand Union canal and Tring reservoirs, a walk on Ivinghoe Beacon and the Ashridge National Trust estate, good local pubs and towns all on the doorstep. Our group (and dogs!) had a fab holiday - will definitely be rebooking!

Comfortable, roomy, good location
Situated in a quiet village, but close enough to everywhere we needed to be. The Oat house is a good sized property in Ivinghoe. The property was very clean and comfortably furnished. with a separate dining room (very useful if a guest needs to catch up on some work). The local Pub (Rose and Crown) less than 5 minutes walk serves an excellent variety of home cooked food at very reasonable prices. We arrived late evening and were a little disappointed that there was no welcome pack (as you would normally get in a property of this price range) but fortunately we had sufficient supplies to last the evening, so it didn't present a major problem. The property owner was close by to respond to any issues if required
