Cottage
Beautiful cottage set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, our guests love the peace and quiet after the hustle and bustle of life. The only sounds you will hear at night are the owls or foxes. The cottage is an old barn conversion providing modern amenities within an old exterior. There are two bedrooms both with views over the paddock, each has its own wet room. One bedroom has a king size bed and the other has twin beds which can be made up into a large double if requested. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Comfortable seating for four in the lounge gives all a chance to simply relax and catch up on the day, or watch a film together. The cottage has superfast fibre broadband. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine in the farmhouse. The private courtyard is a real sun trap and has access to the gardens, there is a table and chairs plus parasol and a BBQ, charcoal supplied for your first BBQ - if it rains decamp to the wet-weather 'barn'. Enjoy a game of Boules or Croquet on the lawn. Very often you will be offered fresh fruit or veg from the kitchen garden. For those of you bringing bicycles we have a secure bike storage and cleaning area. There is ample off road parking, there is also an electric car charging point adjacent to the parking area.More

We had a very enjoyable 6 days in this lovely cottage. It was ideally placed with many attractions easily accessible - We went to Canterbury Cathedral, Leeds Castle, Chatham Historic Dockyard and Whitstable. A short walk to the Tadpole Tea room for breakfast is to be recommended. Jenny made us feel very welcome.

We stayed at Tilia Cottage- a beautifully converted barn in the grounds of Court Lodge Farm in Bishopsbourne. We were attending a wedding with our two adult daughters and needed somewhere local to stay for two nights with en suite bathrooms space to relax and prepare for a very special day. Jenny was a delightful host and couldn’t have been more helpful with questions and recommendations ; answering my questions within an hour! . The cottage was beautiful and we arrived to wine, home made bread and cakes, cereals marmalade and biscuits . Really what a delight ! The local pub, the Mermaid , a tiny walk away , was also fabulous . We couldn’t have been happier and felt relaxed and so lucky to have come across the cottage meaning the whole weekend was absolutely perfect . Brilliant we will be recommending !

We stayed at Court Lodge Cottage and had a really lovely weekend. The cottage is clean with all the home comforts and, the hospitality shown from Jenny was very welcoming. The welcome basket was well received and she was happy to answer any questions we had about the local area. We visited Canterbury using the Park and Ride which was so easy to use and only about 10 minutes away. excellent service. The local supermarket was also really close to get those essential provisions. We absolutely loved this cottage and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to visit Canterbury or the Kent Coast. We were so pleased that we found Court Lodge Cottage and, I would definitely recommend this lovely retreat in a quiet location with the village pub only a few minutes walking distance away. Thank you, would love to return. Nina

lovely modern barn conversion, set in beautiful countryside in Kent perfect base to explore Canterbury and Dover, although there are many beautiful walks and villages near by. There is a lovely pub a stones through away that serves great food and drink and is dog friendly. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, we were really impressed with the kitchen equipment and the welcome basket was a lovely surprise, complete with homemade bread. The living room was spacious and even had some games/dvds/books which we made use of. Beds were really comfortable, slept like a log. The only thing I would say was that it was cold at night, but the external temperature was very low. The hosts were friendly and helpful. would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

This was a very last minute booking, but we were so pleased with the accommodation. The rooms were spotlessly clean and there was everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. It is a short journey into Canterbury, with an easily accessible Park and Ride just off the A2. Would very happily stay there again.

Well decorated. The beds are comfortable as are the seats in the main room. It is well equipped for cooking and suitable for a longer stay. Outdoors a table makes for covivial alfresco dining though indoors the bar stools will not suit everyone. It is in a delightful location with local pub and a butchers, though not visited. The hosts are very friendly and obliging.

My wife and I stayed for 1 week in “Tilia Cottage” located in the charming and picturesque village of Bishopsbourne. The proprietors “Jenny and Ray” were so amenable and nothing was too much trouble. The welcome basket provided was incredibly generous complete with delicious homemade specialities. This 2 bedroom cottage with it’s private outdoor seating and car parking area was so immaculately presented with the most comfortable beds, two fantastic accessible wet rooms, and a wonderful feeling of tranquility. We highly recommend this beautiful cottage, with so many thoughtful touches, and look forward to visiting again in the near future. Many thanks for your hospitality. A lovely, well equipped little cottage. Excellently located for us to visit all in the area we wanted to; Whitstable, Herne, Deal, Broadstairs and of course Canterbury cathedral. To come home to this little gem at the end of the day was a real treat. We sat and had a glass of wine at the enclosed terrace area and later wandered up to the local pub “The Mermaid” for some delicious food and local ales. The hosts, Jenny and Ray were lovely and there on hand if you should need anything. The gardens were gorgeous to walk around too. Would definitely recommend staying here. The welcome hamper was a super surprise too and very delicious homemade jam!

Tilia Cottage is great for exploring Canterbury, Howlett’s zoo & the Kent coast (Deal, Sandwich etc) and is set in a picturesque village. We were greeted on arrival and found a lovely welcome pack had been left in the cottage. Jenny & Ray were great hosts giving us good tips on where to visit & eat. Highly recommend.

About the neighbourhood
There are numerous excellent walks from the door of varying length, the popular Elham Valley Way runs right by our property. We can always recommend a suitable walk or a cycle ride along country lanes. The Mermaid, in the village, is a Shepherd Neame pub - the oldest brewer in the country, serving good food and excellent beer. Two minutes from the cottage! We also have an excellent cafe, The Tadpole, which again has a very creative chef using seasonal ingredients. Worgans, our farm shop, sells locally sourced produce and is an award winning butchers - perfect for those BBQs. They also have a fantastic fresh fish counter again locally sourced. The village has a childrens play area, Howletts zoo is a mere 10 minute drive away.
Getting around
Should you take to two wheels there are numerous cycle routes on safe country lanes, National Cycle Route 16, Canterbury to Dover, runs nearby. Mountain biking in Covert Wood, Barham offers safe cinder trails for family cycling and downhill tracks for the more adventurous. Approx 5km distance. Canterbury with its numerous attractions is easily reached within 5 minutes, a park and ride is the best way to get to and from the city. Whitstable, Sandwich, Faversham and Dover are all within easy reach,
