There are trails on the property, but also walking on the road in the neighborhood Nimboja is a pleasure because the neighbors are very nice people. All the wooden details have been made by the local entrepreneurs of Masatepe. Masaya is close by. Within an hour you are in Granada, Managua, the beaches and the volcanoes Masaya and Mombacho. You can use local buses from Masatepe, you can call a taxi from Masatepe and the tuctuc will be on the road passing the property. Numbers of the taxi and the tuctucs are available, so you call them.More

We are always here to assist you in any way we can. From telling you how to discover Nicaragua to the secrets of the surroundings. We are a Dutch couple and we live in Nicaragua for more than twenty years now. We worked in the whole country and finally we decided to stay here and we have chosen this place to live. Near Managua and Masaya, cool climate and in an natual environment.

Thank you Sam and Don for taking time to write this review. You stimulated me to go to the horse festival again after years and it was nice to watch this tradition like a lot of traditions so well conserved in Nicaragua.

About the neighbourhood
Your home away from home is located in a secure area. The park is part of the community Nimboja, just at the north of Masatepe. There is a school, some houses where women sell the basic needs like eggs. It is nice to walk around and meet the locals of the countryside. Masatepe has many attractions: art workshops that produce wooden and natural fiber furniture, and restaurants with the famous 'Sopa de Mondongo', but also the tamuga. At the central park within the catholic church you can see the image of the Black Christ. From Villasvistamasaya you can take walk to the Venecia viewpoint of the Masaya Lagoon. On the way you have spectacular views on the Masaya vulcano.
Getting around
Your home is close to all the other pueblos blancos of the meseta, where the climate is cooler. The people of Managua like to come here on Sunday to buy from the local artisan people and to have lunch in a restaurant. You will find a lot of small villages, like Catarina with small outside shops with plants. Just on the other side of the main road to the volcano Mombacho you find San Juan del Oriente with a lot of pottery shops. In Niquinohomo Sandino was born. A small museum tells the story of Sandino. These villages are close by. You can do a day trip to the volcanos Masaya or Mombacho, go to historical and famous town of Granada, Masaya with the artisan market and even the beach is only an hour drive from Villasvistamasaya.
