Region: Somerset offers 3 areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Quantock, Mendip and Blackdown Hills. Lose yourself in the glory of nature, take a ride on a steam train, visit a traditional farmer's market or explore your mystical side at Glastonbury.
Town: Cheddar: The large Somerset village of Cheddar is a major tourist destination on the edge of the Mendip Hills, renowned for SSSI Cheddar Gorge, the largest gorge in Britain, which includes several show caves such as Goughs Cave, through which Britains biggest underground river runs
Set in a beautiful, peaceful location The Barn is the perfect place for walking, cycling & generally getting away from the hubbub of life. Within easy reach of Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Wells and its wonderful cathedral, Glastonbury, the coast. Kilver Court Gardens, Shepton Mallet are well worth a visit. The Barn itself is a delight to stay in with views of the surrounding hills & picturesque church & farm (spot the alpacas!). Allison is a lovely host, we enjoyed the flapjacks & welcome pack. Altogether charming.
