A Pack'n'Play (playpen) may be available if needed, just ask! ●While we do offer WiFi, there is no TV. FEATURING: ▪︎A screened-in front porch. ▪︎A stocked kitchen (pots/pans, dishes, cooking utensils, glassware, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, etc.), bed linens, free BBQ propane & firewood. ▪︎Pack light! 1 complimentary towel/person, shampoo, conditioner & handcrafted body bar provided. ▪︎Has a BBQ at the door & a fire pit near the dock. ▪︎Off-grid experience! (Solar/wind energy) Brief power outages are part of the experience ;) so we ask our guests to not leave fans or lights on when they are not necessary. ▪︎The BBQ is conveniently located steps away between the kitchen & outdoor table. We provide bedding & linens, 1 towel + 1 washcloth/person, dishes/kitchenware, a 4 liter jug of water, TP & basic toiletries, propane & firewood. We do not supply or have paper towels. We have 2 super friendly (off-leash) big dogs. As we live next door, they will more than likely visit at some point during your stay. ■If you plan on doing some fishing here during your stay, you need to have a valid fishing license (can be purchased inexpensively online for weekly use) & your own equipment (rod, lures, worms, etc.). ■OUR PROPERTY■ ▪︎Off-grid experience! (Solar/wind energy) Brief power outages are part of the experience ;) , although we added to our house-battery supply in 2021 to ensure these outages happen less often. ▪︎10 minutes to Gananoque. ▪︎30 minutes to Kingston. ▪︎Boat launch & dock on-site. ▪︎Family-based. ■AREA ACTIVITIES■ ▪︎In 2002, the Ontario 1000 Islands were designated as a UNESCO biosphere. Explore! ▪︎Fish/swim/kayak on-site. ▪︎Let us take you to a nearby beach by boat. ▪︎Play volleyball or badminton in our sand court. ▪︎Walk or bike down the majestic tree covered, gravel lane. ▪︎Explore trails on the island. With 4 other rental cottage spaces on the surrounding properties, Hideout on Howe is set up to entertain many guests at the same time. This cottage has its own dock & waterfront space. The volleyball court is shared among guests. ☆Located on an island serviced by 2 ferries, Hideout is just minutes from beautiful Gananoque (the "Gateway to the 1000 Islands"). Local attractions include the renown 1000 Islands Playhouse, the Gan Brewing Company, the 1000 Islands History Museum, the Joel Stone Heritage Park with public playground, splash pad & sandy beach, the Marble Rock Conservation Area, the 1000 Islands Boat Museum, 2 or 5 hour cruises on the Gananoque Boat Line, numerous galleries, helicopter tours, kayaking day trips, & so much more. Join us for lunch at one of our favourite waterfront restaurants! There are several family/group friendly activities available. (Deal breakers without refund.) ●X ♡Relax. Play. Enjoy.♡ This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date. A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request. Our house rules: no smoking, no parties or events, no pets or dogs permitted (as we have animals, including guardian dogs. We cannot have any other dogs here for the safety of other guests). No smoking in buildings. Parents coming with children under the age of 16 must bring proper fitting life jackets for them.
