▪︎The barbeque is just a short dash away through sliding doors from the kitchen.
▪︎Chill out after a fun day in the sun! Grab a drink & gaze at the countless stars from a Muskoka chair at the fire pit in your front yard.
▪︎There is no reliable Wi-Fi here, but if that's a deal-breaker, access is better at the dock or closer to my house (my family lives next door).
We provide bedding & linens, 1 towel + 1 washcloth/person, dishes/kitchenware, a 4 liter jug of water, TP & basic toiletries, propane & firewood. We do not supply or have paper towels. You'll also need to bring more water for drinking - our water is fine for dishes & showering.
We have 2 super friendly (off-leash) big dogs. As we live next door, they will more than likely visit at some point during your stay. Guests who are afraid of dogs should not attend the cottage.
■If you plan on doing some fishing here during your stay, you need to have a valid fishing license (can be purchased inexpensively online for weekly use) & your own equipment (rod, lures, worms, etc.).

With 4 other rental cottage spaces on the surrounding properties, Hideout on Howe is set up to entertain many guests at the same time. This cottage is not waterfront but shares waterfront space. The volleyball court is shared among guests as well.
☆Located on an island serviced by two ferries, Hideout is just minutes from beautiful Gananoque (the 'Gateway to the 1000 Islands'). Local attractions include the renown 1000 Islands Playhouse, the Gan Brewing Company, the 1000 Islands History Museum, the Joel Stone Heritage Park with public playground, splash pad & sandy beach, the Marble Rock Conservation Area, the 1000 Islands Boat Museum, 2 or 4 hour cruises on the Gananoque Boat Line, numerous galleries, helicopter tours, kayaking day trips, & so much more. Join us for lunch at one of our favourite waterfront restaurants! There are several family/group friendly activities available. ■□■We require a 500 dollar deposit through the platform, shortly before arrival on our property. Upon checkout, we'll inspect for damages & extra cleaning (the space must be left as you found it - tidy). Broken glass, furniture, clogged septic pump from flushing anything other than human waste/toilet paper, ripped screens, bottle caps/cigarette butts on the ground, holes in walls, dirty dishes, excessive amounts of bugs inside due to leaving doors open, etc. requires extra cleaning costs & time that your deposit will cover. If the space/property is left in the same condition as you found it, all of the deposit will be returned upon checkout after we verify.■□■

Unbelievable Experience with Beautiful Islands! You Wont be Disappointed!!
Being a greedy person, I was very hesitant in writing this review since I didn’t want others to know about this treasure!!! A one of a kind experience that you can only imagine with an amazing waterfront cottage and unbelievable view! Its the perfect getaway for a couple, group of friends, or simply with your whole family! Tons of exciting things to do such as kayaking, swimming, cliff jumping, fishing, going on a boat ride tour with the owners, outdoor activities (volleyball or bring your own sports accessories since you have tons of open space on your own property), etc. In the evenings, enjoying great times with your loved ones or neighbours over a bon fire having marshmallows and hot dogs. There are 4 outdoor properties that have their own unique feel and you CAN NOT go wrong with either of them! The houses are beautifully done and very clean. This place is HUGE and you have the opportunity to have your own privacy if you wish or the chance to meet other wonderful guests/neighbours staying at Hideout on Howe.
A huge plus was that my family enjoyed taking the ferry ride to get to Howe Island. Its only $6 which includes there and back. It was quick and it only took about 10-15 mins. We also enjoyed driving to Kingston for dinner and show which is extremely close by.
Onto the best part is meeting Chris, Courtney and their children. You will not meet better host anywhere and better yet sincere caring people that generally are there to make your stay unforgettable! Our younger boys enjoyed spending time with their wonderful children who were respectful, funny, entertaining, and extremely intelligent. Ok, Im now turning over a new leaf to be a better person so I’ll be sure to spread the news about Hideout on Howe with my friends and colleagues. By the way, spaces are limited so we couldn’t wait and already booked again for the upcoming months!!
