We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids under 5 and found the house comfortable and clean. Check in was easy. Communication was clear and efficient. Location is great for exploring the west coast of the Island and all of the amazing beaches. Almost private beach is beautiful and we loved watching all of the ships pass and the changing weather. Highlight of our trip was seeing a pod of orcas pass by one morning. Quirks of the house are: closet doors on bedrooms instead of real doors (if you’re looking for silence or privacy this is not the bedroom for you), turning out of the driveway is dangerous and we almost died once because there is a blind corner (a rounded mirror across the street would do wonders for making sure no one gets t-boned), the beach has no sand just round smooth lovely rocks that make a heavenly sound as the waves crash against them. Quirks not complaints because every house has something and these wouldn’t deter us from booking again. Honestly I wish I could leave a bad review as I don’t want anyone else to book here and take up the dates we want.

Spent a great 3 days at Driftwood Cottage The beach and the hot tub were the drawing factors and were thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for a very well stocked kitchen and amenities

Everything went seamlessly easy , the cabin was rented for the other grandparents and proved to be a big hit . The grandkids came to visit grandma and grandpa, then just went around the corner to the neighbour, who were their other grandparents in the property’s cabin The gardens on the property were immaculately maintained. The beach was so beautiful. I would go back every weekend if I could.

This property is amazing! We are quite familiar with the area and this house is one of the very few with beach access and a hot tub with a stellar view. Fully stocked kitchen, umbrellas, beach mats, this place has it all! We had such a wonderful family vacation! We especially loved the views from all the windows! We seen so many bald eagles, seals and humming birds! Great place to come and make some beautiful memories with family! Rob was very accommodating and responded to any questions promptly! Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful home for my family! 5 adults and 2 kids (6 & 9 yrs) we all had ample space. It was clean, appliances all worked well, it was warm and inviting. The view was fantastic. The beach, gardens, fire pit, all very lovely. Close to Sooke for shopping and restaurants. We loved our days spent on the beaches (China, French, and Botanical at Port Renfrew) as well as our visits into Victoria to the Wharf, Museum and several restaurants. Also a successful day salmon fishing - this vacation checked all the boxes!! At days end, a nice hot tub and some relaxing times connecting with family. It was a great vacation! Thanks to Rob (host) for his help. This experience was a 10. I would certainly return to the Driftwood Beach House in the future.

Love this home didn’t want to leave. Had everything we needed and more. Spacious sleeping arrangements for family’s and having the cottage was super nice. The hot tub was amazing and house was clean. Was my families second time staying in the house and we would go back again! Drive to Jordan river super close and loved watching the surfers!

Excellent rental experience. Great communication with the host. The unit had everything we needed. The view was unreal and it was awesome to be able to go check out the beach (even in the winter). Would definitely return.

Quaint, private, comfortable and cozy. Loved it enough we are already booked for next Sept.

Five of us -the grandma, the parents and two kids- spent two weeks for Easter in this very family friendly house, enjoying the hot tub, garden and beach. (We didn't need the cabin.) It could not have been better...very comfortable and casual. The house is very well-equipped, the hot tub was a great bonus in all weather, as was the fire pit. We loved the outside decks too. The garden is spectacular and was bursting with spring flowers. And then THE incredible beach!!! Though there is some public access, we still felt very private, and loved walking the surf line at all hours and seeing so much sea life...otters, sea lions, so many birds. No whales though. We especially loved going to the rocks at the small cove to the west side. We never knew barnacles were SO interesting to watch!!! Rob was very responsive if we had a question and came by to make sure everything was okay. Thanks, Rob. We loved our introduction to Sooke and will definitely be back!!!
