Myself and my boyfriend had the most wonderful stay at 9c for our anniversary. Having previously stayed at another of Brian’s apartments, we thought we would try this one and were even more blown away than last time. Stylish, homely and romantic: the apartment has everything you need for the perfect chilled night away! Brian had kindly arranged the flowers my boyfriend had delivered to the apartment prior to our arrival and left a bottle of something for ourselves as well to enjoy, the most amazing surprise. This place made our anniversary even more special! We will be returning again in the foreseeable once again.

Booked this apartment for a 5 night stay. Picked this location as central to tour this part of Scotland, including Loch Lomond, Dundee and Edinburgh. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, all basic requirements like cutlery, crockery, glasses (some plastic for the hot tub). Nice tv and sofa, modern rain shower with good water flow, could have maybe done with a rubber mat for the shower base as it was very slippery when wet. Very comfortable bed with "twinkling" lights above. Only a 5 minute walk to Tesco supermarket and into town. There is a railway station at the far side of town (maybe 20 minute walk) from where you can get a train to Edinburgh (30 minutes). Of course the hot tub was really nice after a day out. Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely go back if staying in that area. Thanks a lot Brian.

This apartment was good. I wouldn’t say it was AMAZING nor would I say it was terrible. The pictures online do the apartment justice, however I feel that many pictures online are zoomed in or only show part of rooms which makes it difficult to gauge sizes/extra details of rooms. We were slightly let down by little details inside. For example, cobwebs in the corners of ceilings, lots of lightbulbs not working, windows were absolutely filthy, there was a dead bee on the radiator in the bedroom, bannisters were dusty and there was makeup on the black chair in living room (assuming from a previous guest). We paid £343.50 for two nights here, and an additional £15 to check in at 2pm - which I thought was pretty steep considering that’s standard check in time at most other places. I think check in and check out times are unfair for guests, especially for what is being charged. 4pm check in and 10am check out does not give guests a lot of time in the apartment (especially if you only stay one night). Yes, we had 2 nights and paid for earlier check in but We only did so because of the lack of time we’d have had in the apartment if we didn’t. The location was superb - bang slap in the middle of everything, and I can only assume this is why the price was high. The hot tub was a nice touch as well - also likely reflected in the price. However, in my opinion for what you are getting this apartment is over priced. The decor and furniture upstairs is incredibly dated. There is no full length mirror which should be considered. The bed only had 2 pillows (one per person) which are rock solid and bobbly by the way. We were only given one towel each for the full weekend - yes there is a washing machine but surely you would provide a towel for each night stayed? The host was hard to get a hold of - I texted twice and emailed before our stay regarding early check in which he didn’t respond to, I had to phone him which he did answer - but makes me think my previous messages were simply ignored? This made me hesitant to contact him on our stay. The host didn’t contact us once about our stay, or to ask if everything was okay. I understand the host wants guests to have privacy - but I think common courtesy would be to see if everything is alright. I think the cleanliness of this apartment was not up to scratch - especially in light of COVID-19. The host should have made sure the place was spotless. I’d love to recommend this place to others but unfortunately I cannot - as I wouldn’t stay here again. Perhaps if the apartment was cleaner, and modernised I would consider coming back.

I will start by advising that I am naturally a picky person and can be a bit of a pedant. This property does not disappoint and if anything the owner possibly under sells it. It is warm and cosy, modern and well appointed. We were looking for an escape, a little treat, that is exactly what we got. We arrived in the middle of ‘Storm Ciara’ and were a little worried that the cold and wet would detract from our stay....it really didn’t. Partially because the property is so well maintained, partially because it is both really close to amenities yet also manages to feel like an exclusive little escape....the possible undersell - many properties have a hot-tub, this one is completely covered and protected from the elements, we literally relaxed in the tub with a storm swirling around us. Great host, very attentive to messages and accommodating.

What a lovely place. It had everything you need in the apartment, very clean and cosy and the hottub was a bonus. It's just a few mins walk into the main centre. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway and hopefully we will come back next year. Thanks for having us.

We spent a lovely evening in the apartment, easy walking distance to the town centre. Accommodation modern, clean and we particularly enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Apartment is beautiful, jacuzzi is great the apartment has everything you need and close town centre. Only reason I scored 4* is because you don’t get a full 24hrs in the apartment you can’t check in till 4pm and check out is 10am so pretty expensive and not a lot of time to do much if you only visit for one day.

Hi. So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay - we offer early arrival / late departure on request, but do need adequate time to clean the hot tub and enable it to heat between bookings. :-)

About the neighbourhood
Dunfermline is a large town in the west of Fife. It was once the capital of Scotland and it's a great place to visit if you're interested in history. Dunfermline's heritage quarter includes the 12th century abbey which is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce and the burial site of 11 other Scottish kings and queens. You can also step back in time in The Royal Palace, Abbot House and St Margaret's Cave. The famous philanthophist Andrew Carnegie was born in Dunfermline. You can see the story of his life at the Carnegie Birthplace Museum and visit the beautiful Pittencrieff Park which he bought for the people of the town. Dunfemline has a good range of shops and places to eat and drink
