STAIRS
***Super important note!
To feel on top of the world you have to CLIMB stairs!
The Swallows’ Nest is high above the roofs of medieval Nice, on the 6th floor.
There are virtually no elevators in Old Nice, so sadly if you find stairs difficult, this wonderful hideaway is not for you. If you're checking your 10,000 steps this will be PERFECT!
LOCAL CHARGES
*** Please note the charge of € 60 payable through the HL site.
This is inclusive of: welcoming you at the apartment, running through how everything works, giving you keys: help by phone during your stay if needed: supply of clean bed linen and towels: beach towels/umbrella/beach mat: check-out cleaning costs.
*** Please be aware of late arrival charges for arrivals after 20.00 - € 50 ***
SORRY! NO CHECK-INS AFTER 23h.
***Please note too the French legal requirement for a Taxe de Sejour to be charged per night for rentals on internet platforms like Holiday Lettings, this is 3% of the nightly charge per person and payable direct to your hosts before you arrive in Nice!
***LONG STAYS and the ENERGY CRISIS. For monthly stays, it's fair you pay for what you use, so we'll take a meter reading at the start and end of your stay. We found it more transparent than adding a guessed amount to your monthly rate. This will be paid direct to your hosts after your stay.
PARKING
Due to it’s fabulous setting, nestled in the narrow streets of Vieux Nice, there is NO parking offered at the Swallows Nest, but you can park at Cours Saleya or other public street parking. Searching for free parking in Nice, can lead you to find street parking a wee bit further out with a stroll back into the old town.
FURNISHING DETAILS
The kitchen has both an oven and microwave, fridge-freezer and ample equipment for the cook within you. If you don’t always want to eat out, you have the most wonderful market with fresh local produce just a 5 minute stroll away. There’s private Wi-Fi and an MP3 CD player with a USB port, there’s no TV so you can truly unwind! The bathroom has a shower. There’s a ceiling fan for summer and a solid wall-mounted radiator for winter visitors. The front door is a security door.

We spent 4 weeks in the Swallows Nest, it was gorgeous and such a great location. The stairs were tough at first but after a week we were acclimatised! The apartment was so nicely furnished with really sweet little touches. We love cooking and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food from the awesome market at Cor Saleya. Lovely linen, crockery it was so nice and we felt really at home. We’d love to come back next year.

Really cute apartment
Really cute apartment with great location in the old town of Nice. It has all you need to spend comfortably some days there. However, the 6th floor became a little annoying at the end... taking into account that was 32 degrees in August and the last thing you want to do is go up and down all the time. Also, the apartment is pretty noisy at nights. The rest just perfect!

Lovely apartment!!
I had a wonderful stay in Nice and the apartment was certainly responsible for that, as well.
The apartment was clean and offered everything one needs. It was really easy to feel like home.
The apartment is located in the heart of Nice (Vieille Ville) so it just takes a few steps to get to restaurants, little shops and the tram/bus station is only 5 minutes away.
A little con would be the many steps you have to walk to get to the apartments since it's an old building and there's no elevator, but once you get there the view makes everything worthwhile.
Besides that, the owners of the apartment were very kind and understanding (given that I wasn't so sure about my trip because of the Corona virus) and always responded my messages fast.
In total, I know that I'll book the apartment again on my next trip to the Côte d'Azur.

Perfect location, right in the heart of Old Town Nice
The location is fantastic, live like a local for your stay. The apartment was lovely, spotless clean and had everything you would need for a stay in Nice. The views are amazing and the bells were a pleasure to hear in the morning. The square below has restaurants and cafes so is lively in the evening. Consider the 6 flights of stairs as your fitness regime for your stay. It was easy to reach from the airport the bus number 98 brings you to within a short walk from apartment. Local buses to Monaco,Villefranche sur Mer are also only a short walk away and well worth a visit.

That is the question. ——

Take buses to any of the major Côte d’Azur destinations from stops just steps away from the Swallows’ Nest. For full information, there is a convenient bus info point very near (they give out plans and schedules) The railway station has fast and inexpensive travel around the area, both inland and along the coast east and west. Walking is a delight and a great way to see Nice, and so too is using VeloBleu Nice’s bicycle rental scheme.
