At the foot of the building is the Café des Capucins, then 2 steps from the theater cafes "Le Repaire" and "The Complex of Laughter", restaurants, supermarkets, shops and artists' studios. At the top of the slopes you will arrive on the plateau of Croix Rousse including its famous market, and a lower you arrive on the Place des Terreaux with the Museum of Fine Arts, the Opera, the street of the Republic and its multiple shops going up to Place Bellecour. On the same floor on the 2nd floor are 3 other apartments if you need extra beds. The neighborhood is very lively, and the Capuchin café located on the ground floor of the building can hold concerts on Saturday nights, so plan earplugs if you are sensitive to noise. The apartment has just been renovated, it is isolated to the maximum with triple glazing and ceiling ventilation (for more freshness at night, no need to open necessarily windows). The district has a HISTORY, that of the establishment of the Capuchins in Lyon: In 1574, Brother Jerome of Milan, Capucins goes to Lyon where he lodges with a countryman, rich banker. Together, they decide to build a monastery for religious and choose to buy, with the help of Guillaume de Gadagne, a first piece of land on the hill of Montauban, in the Saint Paul district. The popularity of the convent led to the need to build a second convent on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse, then called "La Montagne Saint-Sébastien". The convent included a church, a chapel, a library of 4000 books, a large kitchen garden, a promenade, several fountains and vineyards. Currently, there is still a convent, part of the cloister, at No. 6 rue des Capucins. The Revolution and the sale of the National Property forced the Capuchins to leave the convent. The district became urbanized in 1810 and became the center of the silk trade. The new buildings are mainly occupied by traders. The proximity of the Silk Condition (7 Rue Saint-Polycarpe) allows a rapid development. The TRABOULES to visit at 2 steps from the apartment: - 3 and 5 rue des Capucins - 6 rue Leynaud Traboules and course - 6 rue des Capucins - Capuchin place: traboule which leads to a pretty courtyard (that of the monks Capuchin) - 7 rue des Capucins: remains of small barracks - 15 rue des Capucins: listed building, remarkable gateway. - 19 rue des Capucins - 3 rue Abbé Rozier: in the courtyard, two steps of stairs face each other, in the same style as those of the Cour des Voraces. - 22 rue des Capucins - 5 rue Coustou: beautiful entrance with columns Today, you can do everything on foot from the apartment: shopping, visits (Museum of Fine Arts, Vieux Lyon, Fourvière), market (Croix Rousse ), restaurants, etc. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: 693871236768More

The location is perfect for exploring Lyon - plenty of nearby restaurants, the best ice-cream in Place Santhony, near Fouvieres and the rivers. Quiet at night, safe and everything you need in a wonderfully renovated apartment.
