Holiday Rental House
A 3 bedroom family house with very pleasant outlook to the front. Sleeps 6 + cot. Ground floor: Sunlit glazed entrance with breakfast table. Living room with dining area. The living room has patio doors opening onto a large front terrace with views through the trees to the water below. Kitchen with breakfast table. Down stairs cloakroom with WC. First floor: 3 bedrooms all with TV. Master with bathroom en suite and a second double room to the front. Family bathroom. Wi-Fi available. Roof Level. A decked sun-terrace with garden furniture on the roof - a real sun trap even on just a mild day, just the place to relax and read that book. A small garden space is beyond. Linen and towels are not provided but can be supplied at extra cost.

Lovely spacious house with a superb view over the estuary. Full facilities with three bedrooms. You can sit and and watch the boats on the estuary. Just need to be aware that the walk into town whist gives good views is hilly.

Fantastic views from the house. Strenuous walk back up to house from Salcolme village. House very comfortable,very well equipped. Photos do not do justice. Would most definitely recommend and would rent again.

Well equipped property with a spectacular view over the estuary. The view more than makes up for the steep walk back and from the town. Would definitely stay here again!

Really lovely property, really spacious and close to the beach if you drive, I wouldn’t recommend if you struggle walking as it’s quite a climb back up from the town or beach

Four of us stayed in this lovely house with the most beautiful views. The house is spacious with everything you could wish for inside. It's situated right on top of a hill with its own parking space which is a bonus. The walk into town is amamzing. Several different ways to walk either straight down the hill or a trip to the beach at Northsands first. The walk up from town is a bit of a struggle, there is a short cut of 214 steps! but well worth it. There are boat trips, a ferry to the beaches across the other side and a ferry to Southsands. 'Overbecks' national trust house and gardens is lovely, just a walk up the hill from the beach. The Ferry Inn 'Steak and Quiz night' is a must, lovely food and great fun! We will certainly be back to Salcombe and to stay in ;Over Ria'

My family (my wife, I and our two young children) plus my parents-in-law stayed at the house for 8 days during the last week of August. There were six of us and we stayed comfortably in this three bedroom house. The house is clean and well equipped. All we had to prepare ourselves are bedlinens, towels and toiletries. The house is perfectly located on the peak of a hill. It is only a few minutes walk to the town centre towards the north; or a 15 mins walk to the North Sands beach towards the south. The only criticism was that the WiFi connection was very slow. Even with full signal standing next to the router, the download speed was only around 0.5Mbps. Such speed may be just ok for web browsing but was too slow to stream any videos. Nonetheless, there is a TV set in each bedroom plus one each in the kitchen and living room. There are also board games provided inside the living room cabinet. Overall, we really enjoyed staying in the house and would definitely recommend to any friends looking for a holiday stay in Salcombe.

The house had everything we could have needed. We found the location excellent, the views over the estuary are superb. The location of the house meant that we could leave our car on the drive and walk down into town (the parking in Salcombe is limited). As other reviewers have mentioned, the house is on a hill above Salcombe. The 'short cut' path probably saved us a few minutes on the walk into town but be warned - it's a thigh burning 212 steps! We didn't actually time the walk but it probably took us between 10 and 15 minutes. The 'longer' route is much more manageable but is still quite hilly. I should clarify though that we found the location to be perfect and the hillside location was not a negative for us at all. We walked part of the South West Coast path from the house which was breathtaking. The area has lots to do with some beautiful bays and gorgeous countryside within easy driving distance. We would wholeheartedly recommend this house and would definitely stay in it again.

About the neighbourhood
The Coastal Footpath has many interesting stretches but nowhere more magnificent than either side of Salcombe. Beyond North Sands (our nearest) beach and South Sands bay with dinghies for hire is the NT house Sharpitor with sub-tropical gardens. Further on is the magnificent Bolt Head and then to Bolberry down and the Port Light Hotel. Over Ria looks toward East-Portlemouth and the beaches on the eastern side of the estuary. This shore can be reached by ferry from Salcombe. (10 min walk) You can walk to the sea from here and along the coastal footpath to Prawl Point. Bigbury Island a short drive up the coast is a favorite spot to for wind and kite-surfers. There is also a celebrated walk around the Avon valley from here.
