We have three beautifully finished cottages in the heart of Lanchester, Durham. Cottage 2 has a good size, fully furnished kitchen, with patio doors into the garden. The lounge is incredibly comfortable, perfect to relax in after long walks! The views are breathtaking throughout the seasons. Making this the perfect year-round get away. The cottages offer a little haven of tranquillity but are close enough to the hustle and bustle of Newcastle (just 16 miles) and of course, the picturesque City of Durham, which is just 8 miles down the road. Perfect to make your trip extra special if you are visiting family at the university. You will be situated close to parks, restaurants (with fantastic dining!) And the region is oozing with art and culture! This is sure to provide you with lots of d...We have three beautifully finished cottages in the heart of Lanchester, Durham. Very impressed
This cottage was probably the best I’ve stayed in , over the years. It is in a fabulous location, has friendly owners and is spacious and well equipped yet cosy and warm. I went with two other people (one using a wheelchair) and a dog. It was perfect for all of us. It had easy wheelchair access, a ramp to the patio, and a shower stool provided (on request) with lots of space to manoeuvre and a big shower. The beds were really comfortable and plenty of storage. The heating was efficient, and it was really well equipped: fridge, freezer, dish washer, washing machine, all the cooking stuff needed, including pizza cutter, and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, butter, delicious homemade bread, milk and doggie biscuits (sitting on a doggie fleece and two bowls.) The view and location were stunning, but it’s the little details that made this a stand-out cottage.

Delightful
Lovely quiet spot with a beautiful view. The accommodation was well equipped, clean and modern. The living area was a bit stuffy as no opening windows other than patio doors, which was awkward with a dog. The main bedroom was a good size with plenty of storage but the second bedroom was quite small and only suitable for one adult. We all loved the shower but my teenager was disappointed that the Wi-Fi was only 4G.

Superbly homely accomodation
I have just had four nights in Stable 2 with my family (three adults and one 23 month old). We have all really enjoyed our stay. It is very homely, comfortable and clean plus the extras including a welcome basket really helped to make it a very special visit. We really liked that everything has been thought about in depth for example the garden toys and BBQ. Lynn and her partner also responded very quickly with any queries that we had before and during our visit. It was lovely looking out from the dining table and seeing the horses in the fields.

We are situated just off the A68 which is the main road to Edinburgh so easily accessible. Our nearest train station is Durham which is only 19km and the nearest airport is Newcastle only 31km.
