BEWARE - I rarely give 1 star reviews, but this is the worst experience we've ever had.
- Upon arriving we were presented with the most aggressive cleaning contract I've seen, where I had to write "yes" next to each line of cleaning duties. We were not informed before of this. Usually places rightly ask to be left as clean as found. This place expected everything to be washed (shower mats, table cloths, mattress protectors, etc). No washing powder was provided. They expected all floors inside and outside to be mopped. I was told the sinks, fridge, etc were expected to be shining like diamond. No cleaning products were provided for this.
- We were told by the replacement person greeting us that we could check out a little later. We had a text message the day before we left to say that they had been instructed to tell us that since we're checking out later the house house be left in "impeccable condition".
- When the house was inspected it was clean, the mattresses were fine, no damage was done. We were told that since things weren't sparkling they cannot write that it was fully clean. We were told that it wasn't clean enough since there were fingermarks on a picture frame.
- Shortly after leaving (before we got to the airport) we had a message from the owner saying that they will take half of the deposit towards cleaning time. They provided no evidence of it being unclean despite requests. Later when I disputed the cleaning cost they fabricated that there was also damage. They said dishes weren't clean, though we used the dishwasher.
- The owner refuses to provide a copy of the contract, or any evidence. I believe they use the deposit to make additional profit.
Additional problems:
- There is only 1 bedroom. The other room with a bed is a boiler room. The boiler makes noise most of the night. It is too small for older children, and without barriers (and hard floor) it's too dangerous for younger. There are no windows and no ventilation.
- Upon arriving there was no toilet paper. It was a national holiday so none could be purchased. No dishwasher tablets, nor bin bags.
- We found out after booking that they didn't provide linens. I asked if it would be possible if I pay for some, they suggested a significant cost for doing so, additional to the cost of linens. They've now updated.
- The shower is low pressure and loses heat (I think when the other attached house uses taps)
- The internet is too slow to stream video or browse sites 0.5mb
