Holiday Rental House
This welcoming house is wonderfully situated on the sea-front bay in the picturesque seaside village of Borth y Gest, 1mile from Porthmadog. To the rear there is a sun room off the beautifully specified kitchen and, to the front of the property there is lounge and a dining room. The view of the bay and the mountains beyond from all the front rooms is unbeatable and it is an easy walk to the numerous small sandy bays, quiet coves, and coastal footpath to Black Rock Sands or Porthmadog. Built around its own crescent bay with a small slipway and boat moorings there are marvellous views across the tidal bay and estuary towards Portmeirion Village and Snowdonia mountains. We have regular guests to Glan-Y-Don and most have pets - they have taken great care of the property (thank you!!!) and for...This welcoming house is wonderfully situated on the sea-front bay in the picturesque seaside village of Borth y Gest, 1mile from Porthmadog. Built around its own crescent bay with a small slipway and boat moorings there are marvellous views across the tidal bay and estuary towards Portmeirion Village and Snowdonia mountains. We have regular guests to Glan-Y-Don and most have pets - they have taken great care of the property (thank you!!!) and for that reason we have dropped any additional fees for pets but... do restrict pets to a maximum of two! The house has a wonderful cafe (next door but one), Bistro and exceptionally good restaurant within the village. Porthmadog has a variety of shopping, drinking & eating places, 2 narrow gauge railways with steam engines. Morfa Bychan, two miles away, has a golf course and the 'Drive-on' Black Rock Sands - 2 miles long. Other places to visit in the area include Portmeirion Village (4ml), Cricieth beaches and Castle (5ml), Beddgelert mountain village at the foot of Snowdon (8ml), Blaenau Ffestiniog (10ml) slate mine exhibition and underground tram ride.Llanberis (15ml) with lake, underground hydro-electric power station exhibition, museums and train rides including the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway. The area of outstanding natural beauty of Pen Llyn and its towns and villages together with the rest of Gwynedd are all within an hour's drive. This is a great location for a holiday in North Wales in one of the most interesting and beautiful locations. The Family Room: please note that this is NOT suitable for 4 adults but 2 adults and two children (in bunk beds) under age of 12. As such the property is suitable for accommodating a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: Visit Wales Grade 4More

About the neighbourhood
Predominantly residential - a pretty and charming village and for that reason popular with day trippers.
How to get there
From Porthmadog, by car, follow signs for Borth-Y-Gest and Morfa Bychan climbing up a hill out of Porthmadog for about half a mile and then look out for a sign for Borth-Y-Gest and a left turn to go down the hill to enter the village. on passing the Glanaber Garage (Petrol, car repairs and car sales) on your right Glan-y-Don is next door but one to the Sea View Cafe and just before the slate roofed bus shelter and village roundabout. There is a small ramp to the garage at the rear of the property to park one car off the road.
