Ardara is beautiful and the host is friendly, she arranged a baby cot and towels because the house is not set up for families with small children. The house could use a deap clean and the beds a hard. Too hard for us to sleep comfortably.

Stayed at Mary's cotage in April 2022. Lovely lady and her cotageis the perfect location to al that Donegal has to offer. Cotage VERY cosy with woodburning fire (which Mary had lit before arriving) Nice comfortable living Гoom and bed was also comfortable, kitchen has everything you need. Nice rear garden and front garden which were enclosed and was great to be able to bring my 2 doggies which also loved the garden. Great location for beaches, walks, and the vilage of Ardara has al your needs and a couple bars.I enjoyed my visit to this beautiful part Donegal and l've boked again for another vist in September as the location is spectacular for scenery. If your looking a very cosy base while in Ardara west Donegal this cotage is perfect. Thank you Mary. John and doggies From Belfast

This is the 3rd time we have visited and it has been fantastic every time. Mary has everything you could need for a nice family week away. Close enough to a few beaches and pubs but quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful break. Our two daughters loved the garden and the weather was nice on the week we visited. We do plan on another trip next year

We loved the house and immediately booked to return in September. Great central location, the house was warm and we didn't need to use much heating even though the weather was cool for the time of year. The house is great for dog owners, it has ceramic tile or laminate flooring making it easy to keep clean. We will be back very soon.

Einfache und sauberes Haus. Wunderbar gelegen um viele Ausflüge zu machen. Traumhafte Strände und Wandermöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Auto ist aber nötig um überall hin zu kommen.

Thank you Mary for being very welcoming and for letting us stay in your lovely, comfortable and very warm house, especially with the toasty turf fire in the stove (which was lit on our arrival). We very much enjoyed looking out over the mountains and watching sunrises, sunsets and the antics of the lambs in the fields. It was very convenient to Ardara and close to some spectacular scenic drives and beaches, which our dog Rocky could not get enough of. Plenty of space to play ball and relax in the back garden after long days of sightseeing. We all loved it and hopefully be back with you next year (if not before). Thank you for a very memorable holiday

Stayed here in June last year at the height of the heatwave and it was lovely. Very convenient to Ardara and shops etc. Located in a beautiful part of Donegal. Used cottage as a base to explore the beautiful countryside, beaches, hill, rivers and waterfall. Mary was a lovely hostess and nothing was a bother. Cottage very clean and comfortable and surrounded by large garden and parking. Bonus was it is pet friendly. Would stay again

About the neighbourhood
A very scenic area based the WILD ATLANTIC WAY, in a very traditional knitwear and tweed producing area of Donegal. World famous for its tweeds. Our cottage in Donegal is only a 20 min drive from Slieve League, where you will find the highest sea cliffs in all of Europe.Situated in a very peaceful setting with wonderful views of both sea and mountains. There are lots of sandy beaches in the area and loads of welcoming cosy bars and a local hotel where you can enjoy traditional Irish music. There are lots of restaurants are located in the area for dining Killybegs, Irelands Premier Fishing port. only a 15 minute drive. Come see all the large fishing boats and cruise Liners. From hiking, rambling and walking, to fishing in the area, the place has lots of activities and of course golf...
Getting around
Using a car is the preferred choice for touring the beautiful sites around Donegal as the nearest train station is Sligo which is over one hour from Ardara and the bus service is not great.
