True to how houses were built centuries ago there are stairs up to the front door and two internal staircases. La Maison du Berger is the smaller and most cosy of the properties. Until recently it was lived in by the local shepherd. The main preserved feature is the ancient fireplace, ensuring that the spirit of the original house lives on. Outside the furnished terrace enjoys lovely views over the surrounding countryside while in the evenings you can experience the unforgettable Luberon sunsets. As well as well as a large living/dining room in La Maison Rose there is a second smaller living room. The restoration of all the properties combines simplicity and luxury to create colourful accommodation in a Provencal farmhouse style. The peaceful landscaped grounds are a joy to wander through, beautifully planted with fragrant herbs, lavender and colourful flowers. Some of the finest perched villages in Provence including Gordes, Menerbes, Lacoste and Bonnieux are within 20km of the Hameau de Cournille. There are also many other fascinating villages and towns to discover, many with weekly markets, within a very short drive including Reillane and Cereste. The Hameau de Cournille is in a beautiful part of the Luberon, surrounded by stunning scenery and charming villages. The staff are so helpful and welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay special. The facilities on site may well mean that you don't go out and make the most of all that there is to visit in the area! There is a tennis court, hot tub, two saunas, massage rooms, table tennis and two outdoor pools - more than enough to keep you busy without having to go further afield. It really is a five star property and the little touches made all the difference - bathrobes, pool towels and gorgeous Occitane toiletries. We will be back!

Viens (8km) The nearest Medieval perched village with regular Wednesday market. Simiane la Rotonde (9km) Hilltop village with Medieval castle. Reillane (24km) An authentic Provencal village. Wander through the historic old village or visit the Sunday market. Banon (16km) Buy some of the famous Banon goat cheese at the market and visit Le Bleuet, a fascinating book shop in the heart of the village. The Colorado Provencal (10km) Waymarked walks take you through a colourful desert scenery with yellow and red rock formations created when ochre was quarried in the area.
