Excellent location. We visited Whitby and Robin Hoods bay. There is an excellent pub in the village serving excellent food. Shop next door selling essentials, cycling and walking track from the village so no need for a car once there if your feeling energetic. Lovely...More

Locally in Fylingthorpe itself, amenities include a butcher / baker, church, playground / park and excellent Public House. Located just over half a mile from the property is the quaint little fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay. Leave the car behind and mooch through the narrow cobbled streets and passages, and enjoy the tea shops, craft and gift shops, sea walls, village pubs, tennis courts, putting and bowling greens. The bay has a very colourful history from becoming the busiest smuggling community on the Yorkshire coast in the 18th century. Today, it remains a gem; unspoilt through the passage of time.Robin Hoods Bay is perched on the edge of a miles-wide sweeping bay from Ness Point to Ravenscar, surrounded by lofty cliffs. Getting around
Buses run every 30 minutes between Middlesborough, Whitby and Scarborough and stop in Fylingthorpe, just 50 yds from the house. The Arriva app is available to download and help to plan your journey. The nearest train stations are Whitby for Middlesbrough, and Scarborough for travel to York and beyond. Robin Hoods Bay has a local taxi firm Climb on board a heritage train on the North York Moors Railway and explore 24 miles of amazing scenery from Whitby to Pickering.
