lots of buildings in Christchurch are newly renovated following the earth quakes and Brickledown is one - freshly renovated, fully modern interior with a nice cottage look outside, and a pretty garden too. About a 20 minute walk from central capacity - unlike most of the country, no hills! We would stay again if we come by New Zealand again.

Stayed for two nights and would highly recommend this cottage. Brickledown was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The back patio was a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the small garden. The cottage was in a convenient location to walk to the center of Christchurch. We simply walked several blocks down Worcester Street to get to the cathedral, horticultural gardens and restaurants. The hosts were very helpful as well. They helped with parking when our large, rented SUV wouldn't fit in the garage (we simply parked on the street in front of the cottage), gave us restaurant and shopping tips, and showed us how to turn on the air conditioner when we couldn't figure it out. Overall, we had an excellent stay.

At first it felt as though we were out in the suburbs of Christchurch but quickly worked out we could easily walk in to the centre to explore the sights. The house was lovely - secluded and quiet with a lovely garden at the back. Inside it was very comfortable - lovely beds and linen - and the 2 bathrooms were a bonus. Avery comfortable stay.

Our family of four adults and a 4 month old baby stayed at Brickledown for two nights before the start of a campervan holiday throughout the South Island. Brickledown was far and above anything we expected, beautifully decorated, comfortable, warm, with every amenity we required as well as a cot made up with cosy linen for my grandson. Joanne had the fridge stocked with delicious full breakfasts for us for the two days, which was much appreciated first thing in the morning after a late night arrival. Would definitely love to visit again. Close to airport and city centre. Ticks all the boxes!

Brickledown is a beautifully decorated, peaceful and restful cottage. It has two double rooms and a twin room - all equally attractive. Well equipped, warm and very comfortable with all you might need (including a great selection of DVDs and games). Thank you, Joanne, we really enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend this Cottage in Christchurch.

We stayed here in peak Summer season (Jan 2017 - family of 5) and found the cottage to be excellent. It has lovely antique furniture, excellent linens, it's beautifully decorated, very clean and there are lots of thoughtful touches (DVDs, board games, hairdriers, well equipped kitchen). Outside the garden/BBQ area is compact but fine to sit for a while in the sunshine. There is a skylight in the living area which makes the room bright, and light pipes in both shower rooms, which again keeps the whole cottage light. The two double bedrooms are at the front of the cottage on the roadside. There wasn't much road noise though, so not really a problem. There's excellent hanging and shelf storage in each bedroom. I only have 1 small downside, which is that there are (lovely) blinds on the master bedroom windows, but nothing else (e.g. voiles), so anyone walking along the road could see straight in to the bed. It wasn't a big problem though and would certainly not stop us going back to stay.

Thank you for your kind review and feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Brickledown. We are 'willing' the Viburnum hedge in the front garden to grow quicker to help with a break between the front bedroom and the street! Thank you for booking Brickledown for your stay in Christchurch and we would love to host you again....... Kind regards, JO and ROB.
