Keen sailors will appreciate that Dicks Bay and nearby Jacks Bay are popular and peaceful anchorages on the eastern side of the Bay of Islands. With a sub-tropical climate, visitors to this region enjoy beach and water activities, go exploring the many nature walks, swim with dolphins, sail, surf or just explore the 144 different islands in the bay. The historic township of Russell is the first capital of New Zealand and retains its European charm, drawing residents from all over the world forming a vibrant and friendly community with pop up weekend markets. There is a wide range of dining options from cafés to award winning restaurants showcasing the best of NZ cuisine and produce.
The heart of this recently built home is the huge designer kitchen with high quality appliances and stonework surfaces. Just behind a feature wall the separate lounge area has an open fireplace for the ambience rather than necessity given the eco-efficiency of the build. With a large master suite at one end and two generous double bedrooms at the far end, privacy is guaranteed with all rooms enjoying access to the large covered deck, which has outdoor seating, dining and a BBQ to enjoy the long Northland evenings. The house is well equipped with all the homewares for a perfect self catering holiday, creating memories of a fabulous romantic getaway or a delightful family holiday.
Additionally a cosy single room can fit a mattress or camp stretcher no linen provided.

The house is about 20 minutes drive from Russell and is situated in an elevated position up a steep hill. The view over the bay of islands is outstanding. We spent many an evening eating our evening meal on the balcony (cooked in the kitchen with every appliance you could wish for in a holiday home) and just watching the view as the sun went down. The house itself was very comfortable and well maintained. It is quite isolated but suited what we were looking for perfectly. The night skies were fantastic. We would love to return to this beautiful piece of paradise.

One of the nicest places we visited
The location of the house is spectacular and so are the views. It has all the comforts one needs and a chef’s kitchen, so cooking is easy. Location is extremely private, and one needs to drive 20 minutes to Russel for groceries and restaurants. Highly recommended as a place to get away from it all!

Perfection
Despite it being a tropical storm when we arrived and the car initially not being to negotiate the steep drive in the rain we were wowed when we entered the property.
This is 5* Boutique Hotel standard. Everything you see on the photographs is understated. Views and level of attention to detail in the accommodation is first class.
What more can I say PERFECT.

Beautiful home in stunning location
We had a week here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The house is up a very, very steep driveway and as we were in an old camper van at the time we could'nt get up to the top! However Kelly was there to greet us and she helped us get everything into the house in her car. Once we were in it was worth the inconvenience of having to park further down the drive although we did get a rental car for the rest of week and this got to top no problem! The house is beautifully decorated and equipped with the most stunning views over the bay. As it is a bit isolated it is worth doing all your grocery shopping before you get there. We spent a lovely week in the Bay of Islands and hired a boat for 2 days to discover the islands. Russell is nice and so is Pahia. Would recommend this property, think it is very good value. Kelly is really helpful if you need advice on anything.
