We celebrated my 50th birthday at Villa Del Mar and brought 15 of our close friends with us (17 adults total). It is located on a practically seclude beach and it is by far the largest beachfront in the area. The house is everything in the pictures as promised and more, but the true beauty of the house is the people. Our host, Rebecca, answered every tiny question my wife and I had. My wife will admit that she can be meticulous as it is the nature of her work, but Rebecca kept up and every demanding wish was fulfilled and upgraded. We asked for a restaurant and she brought us an incredible chef’s table experience that will never forget by Chef Alfredo Rueda. We asked for dancers and she got us dancers who taught us how to dance Merengue and Bachata. We asked for a cigar roller, and got an in-depth explanation on cigar rolling from a talented local cigar roller. The staff in the house is top notch, the cleaning ladies were extremely thorough and kind. The driver, Miguel, took a few guests to El Limon which was more work than they expected and he helped them up and down the crazy hike. Jose was loved by all our guests and served as our invaluable go-to-guy while making us delicious fresh fruit drinks that we could not get enough of. If we could have, we would have taken Omar home with us. We asked him only to make us traditional Dominican food for our entire trip. In the end, he had converted all 15 of our guests to Dominican food lovers - something that could not have imagined. The one watch out for next time that we noted was the mosquitos. Be sure to buy a bunch of bug spray when you get there. All in all, this was truly this was a trip of a life time, we are so thankful for this experience and for Rebecca and her team who really were the jewels in the crown of this gorgeous home.

Easy , peaceful, beautiful, comfortable and great fun with family

Property is absolutely breath taking! Words can’t describe enough! We arrived in the evening and the view was awesome! Everyone’s jaw dropped! We were a family of 18 together with Ages from 6-70! Rebecca, Omar & Jose, Miguel, Tomas & Yenni and all of the staff in this villa are exceptionally talented and friendly. I can’t even think of one complaint about them. Initially, the house manager was Martine who was amazing, and she didn’t speak much on the phone or direct English but had her son communicate with me who was in Canada! This shows how devoted they all are to their job and how committed and the level of customer service. Anything we needed or requested or asked it was there for us. Rebecca was on maternity leave but made it a point to make sure we had all the things and came to meet me as well. We will recommend anyone going to make sure there is enough mosquitos spray or band they carry with them and if not you have Jose who speaks excellent English and will take care of it for you! Villa Del Mar can never be a wrong choice! Best location, awesome villa and phenomenal staff!

I have traveled to over 100 different countries and I have to say the hospitality and the graciousness were above and beyond. We booked the house for my daughter's 18th bday and graduation celebration. We brought her closest teen friends and I brought some mommy reinforcements. Here are the words the teens chose to describe the staff: Attentive Welcoming Generous Entertaining Helpful Selfless Muy Bien The house is beautiful and clean but needs a few updates. They need to replace mosquito nets and need to spray for mosquitos regularly. This was the #1 reason the trip was not 100%. I consider OFF the Eau de parfum of the Domincan Republic. Secondly, I realize this beach is in a compound and the beaches are secluded but are still public. They prohibit motorized sports in the ocean which is to keep the noise down. I think security should keep music to neighbors homes to a comfortable level especially since the houses are open air. AC works well in the bedrooms could have uses aome more portable fans in the common spaces and in the masterbathroom in June. The chefs Omar and Tommy are spectacular!!! The menu options and flexibility were incredible. Steak, shrimp, lobster, whole snapper, pasta, roast pig and the national dish Sancocho. I want to bring them home. This side of the island is European which means that it is not big resort style- stay within the walls like most American resorts. Miguel can drive you into the town and shop and participate in the hip nightlife at Etno and salsa dance at Babylon. Surf school at Carolina's is a must. Catamaran is beautifully maintained and takes you to secluded places. We asked about stopping at a place for lunch but at this service was not a possibility when we went so we had the chef pack our lunch for the day. There was no seaweed and there was not one bit of plastic or garbage in the water. The beaches and the water were gorgeous!!! As for security, they were around and quickly available. So even as you slept with the front door wide open and the house open the the beach it was safe and secure. Lastly the abilty to communicate and to get things done or to order or book anything was excellent. The housemanager Rebecca was topnotchShe had a baby the week before we arrived and she was still super accessible and was so helpful all throughout our trip. And Jose,who has an amazing personality, brought everything we needed before we even realized we needed it. Thank you!

This property is absolutely beautiful and as pictured. The housekeeping staff are a dream come true. Contrary to other reviews, Jose and Omar are NOT amazing. We checked in on Easter weekend. While we recognize this is a very busy Holy week, we do not believe that should have ruined our check-in (especially considering we pay more for this week). Kitchen staff did not have drinks for us, as was promised, there was no welcome snack and dinner was served over an 2 hours late (that was 20 starving women!). We were told by the manager, Rebecca, who was wonderful, that they would make it up to us...this sadly never happened. Meals were often later than scheduled. We consistently had to request items by taking our own inventory (rather than them proactively asking), the driver was non-existent and did not make his services known, the bartender acted as if it was an inconvenience to make us drinks. He watched us pack our own coolers for the beach (chopping up ice that had frozen to our drinks in their fridge) and never asked if we wanted drinks. Additionally, although not expensive, ice is NOT included, and the staff has to buy it all the time, or in our experience we have to ask or go buy it ourselves. Ice is generally an amenity that is included in a hotel or rental. When presented with all of these issues, one man claiming to be the owner offered to refund us one night, which would have been the appropriate thing to do. However, it turns out he was not the owner and just an employee of the company and did not have authority to do so. Instead, the owner provided us 2 bottles of champagne! (lucky us!) We have stayed at properties that include in-house staff before. This was the best housekeeping staff and the worst food staff we have seen. You might wonder about our tips. We still tipped all the staff very generously, to the amount of what I am told is their wage for a month. I recommend this property if you want to make your own drinks and beg for service. Perhaps tip them in the beginning of the week so they know you mean business? The rooms are wonderful. The pool is lovely (minus that the floor becomes an ice rink when wet), the grass and beach are lovely also. However, please be advised there are only 8 lounge chairs which is not enough. It is also lovely to not have to cook, do dishes, go grocery shopping or do laundry for a week. Just don't have huge expectations for proactive service.....

Super impressive property with a great supporting staff. Property management is able to scale up or scale down based on the needs of the renters. Really friendly folks.

An amazing villa in Las Terrenas perfect for a wedding or any celebration up to 28 people. We had our dream wedding at this property and it couldn't have been better! Highly recommend

This place is incredible, but the staff truly are what make this place stand out. The food, cleanliness, service, attention to detail, and friendliness are second to none. Martine was quick to respond to every message I ever sent as well. The staff cooks the best Domincan chicken and rice/beans! Omar is amazing. Yenni and the rest of the cleaning staff did an amazing job too.
