Bring your bikes to take the bicycle path that follows the beach 4km into town, take a dip in the crystal clear water or bring your fishing gear and fish for whiting, herring and flounder as the sun sets over the ocean. If you would prefer to relax at home there are plenty of board games, jigsaws, books and videos to enjoy and the house is only a short walk to the local Minimart, Fish and Chip shop and bottleshop.

Markingle is a very comfortable, well looked-after 1970s-style house at Geographe, north of Busselton, which makes a great base to explore the south-west of Western Australia. We were four adults staying in the house and we had plenty of room. One bedroom has bed that is more child size, but we had a small person who used it in comfort. There was a sea breeze every day, so we kept cool in the evenings when we came home. The back verandah is a lovely place to sit and debrief on the day (or have a BBQ). The kitchen and dining area are large and there's all you need to cook meals. The local IGA and bottle shop and petrol station are a couple of blocks away. For coffees, Sensations Cafe at Geographe is 15 minutes walk or 5 mins by car.
The beach is one block away but you might also want to walk along the foreshore shared pedestrian and cycle way that goes all the way into Busselton, about 4 km. The local area is very pleasant for walks in the morning or afternoon. And it's very...

Markingle is by far one the most homely and well fit out property we have come across, especially with internet and WiFi access.

It's not modern or new but it was an actual family home until 2012 and not built as a holiday let. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked.

The extensive collection of books, DVDs, board and card games kept the young and old entertained.

During our stay in late December, the weather was unusually mild - nothing over 24 degree c. I wondered how the property would fair with only an air conditioner in the kitchen dinning.
