Interaction with guests
The island has a rich geographical contrasts and combines the dry Cycladic landscape with lush vegetation and abundant water. It is the unique Cycladic island that springs from the rivers to the sea that run throughout the year. In these waters Andros owes her beauty and the ancient names Lasia (with rich vegetation) and Ydrousa ( with abundant water.) Dressed in green it stands out of the rest islands thanks to its lushful vegetation that Andros owes to its rich underground and surface water resources. Within this distrinct environment a gracious cultural heritage is being preserved, with many painters, sculptors and scholars.

About the neighbourhood
Andros is ideal for hiking due to its mountainous natural and the variety of springs that offer a unique experience. In recent years, there has been a systematic effort by the 'Andros Routes' network to record, maintain and promote these routes. These actions have increased the number of foreign visitors who love this form of tourism. In October 2015 The European Ramblers' Association granded Andros' Paths as Leading Quality Trails-Best of Europe'. This label hides a special system of criteria that takes care of the needs of hikers, makes the attractiveness of trails tangible and thereby guarantees a high standard.
Hikers in Andros can enjoy everything. Old bridges, watermills, valleys or even small waterfalls.
