This was the first time that we booked out accommodation through trip adviser - we were not disappointed. The hosts - never before have we met more kind and accommodating hosts than with Molly and Ducket (and their lovely daughter Mel). From the initial contact via email, to their support through our stay - they made us feel like so much more than renters, we felt like part of the family! They had a vast knowledge of the area. They looked after our every need - including allowing my (vast) family to enjoy various visits and BBQs at the property. My dad is from KK and we visit every few years to see our HUGE family. They even made me cakes for my birthday! Molly and Ducket really are one of the most genuine and lovely couples I have ever met. We feel very lucky to have met them. The villa - even the stunning photos on TripAdvisor do not do this villa justice. We were visiting my family in KK. There were four of us in total - myself, my partner and my parents. My mother is disabled and so kindly, Molly put us in a ground flour apartment. It opened up straight onto the terrace and pool. It was perfect for my mum's needs! There were two extremely comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms. The apartment was finished to a high standard and there was a feeling of luxurious elegance throughout. Plenty of room to not be treading on each others toes. The living room came stocked with DVDs, CDs and books. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. Molly was so lovely and helped us stock the kitchen, she sent us a shopping list - we selected and paid and the food was waiting for us when we got there. Believe me after the mammoth flight there it was great to not have to worry about food shopping! The location - the one requirement for staying at the villa is that you are able to drive. Karambunai is about a 30/40 minute drive from the centre of KK (this is largely due to traffic congestion.) But it is well worth the drive. The villa is located on the beach. The beach is basically private - it is not open to the public, just guests of the resort It was mostly empty when we visited in September/October. It was an unbelievably tranquil experience. There is the nexus hotel just along the beach. This has a shop, restaurant and bar and more pools, it was busier but great to have the amenities within walking distance. If you have the opportunity to visit Sabah, I heartily recommend staying in the villa. It has given us the most wonderful memories that we will always treasure. It is perfect for honeymooners, families, couples and groups of friends! Thank you Molly and Ducket for a truly wonderful holiday experience.

Exactly we chose a low seasion to visit this tiny city of Borneo. Because we love its climate, the beach and visit islands. All about natural, from orininal...If you are a shopaholic or party animal, I think there is not suieable for you. About the Suites, it is a nice place for your stay that if you want to spend some leisure time with your family, lover or friends. Below informations for your reference: - Far away from downtown. - Room is definitly furnitured that you can find everything you need. - Balcony faces to the beach so you can listen it anytime. - This prevate residence is a part of NEXUS RESORTS but a little bit far from main resorts. The transportation is available by your prior reservation to main resorts. - Have outdoor pool but safe guard. - You have right to access all facilities of NEXUS RESORTS. - Borneo Spa is a nice option in main resorts. - You'd bettler to rent a car for your conveneince. - No SATELLITE TV in suites. - Golf course is available in resorts. - Much more MOSQUITOES by waterside-so prevention is necessary. MOST IMPORTANT - MOLLY and DEREK in charge of those SUITES. They are nice people and always d they best to assist you.

We had a lovely time at the Beachfront suites. The suites were spotless and the Swiming pool and the beach very nice. Our hosts were extremely kind and helpful and the fact that you can either make your own food or take a free shutle to the Nexus restaurants only 5 min away.

The apartments are fresh and well equipped, and located in peaceful surroundings by what is probably Borneo's most beautiful beach. Although outside the Nexus resort, you can still enjoy everything the resort has to offer. Excellent service by the wonderful couple who does the renting out of these privately owned apartments. Rental car would perhaps have been preferable, as the nearest supermarket is a bit of a drive away. But the resort provides shuttle both to the Borneo1 mall and to downtown KK. The resort is a bit more run-down than the nearby Shangri-La RasaRia, but much more peaceful! We definitely recommend this place if a peaceful and relaxing beach/pool holiday in beautiful surroundings is what you are looking for. Stunning sunsets!

We stayed for five nights, the appartment is tastefully furnished and well appointed. The pool and beach were right in front of the building, the facilities are clean and well maintained. The scenery is quite stunning and the whole resort is very quiet and peaceful. Of course it is very far from the nearest shops and restaurants, about a half-hour drive, so you need a car. There is hardly anyone there. I think we were alone in our building. Which I liked. The actual hotel is a half-hour walk along the beach. Use plenty of repellent in the morning and at dusk as the sand-flies can be vicious. Molly and Derek, the owners, live in the next block and were very welcoming and helpful.

We stayed for 12 days. Suite is beautifully decorated with a very relaxed ambience. Incredible sea view from the balcony. Beach is awesome. Staffs are friendly and always willing to assist. Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxed and memorable stay. We would most definitely be coming back.

Sadly only a short visit but a fabulous place to stay. The apartment can not be faulted..it's perfect with wonderful views over the sea. The staff are very helpful and pleasant offering a shuttle bus service between the main resort and the apartment..but easy enough to stroll along the beautiful white sandy beach between the two. Rasa Ria resort is a great place to visit and see the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre......an unforgettable experience. Would love to return someday

My husband and I booked this apartment for our too-short honeymoon (only five days), and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaysia. Booking and paying for our stay at the apartment was very easy, and we did it completely via email & PayPal, well in advance of our trip. The owner was very accommodating of our travel plans (we had to adjust our dates due to flight availability). She was also very helpful with up-front information about the locale and what we could expect. This information is also available on a print-out in the apartment living room. The apartment is a good way out of town, so expect to pay for transportation. If you rent a car, be sure to get one with a navigation system - there's a distinct lack of signboards! The plus to the location is that it is a lovely , quiet area, with very natural surroundings. The beach was beautiful white sand, mostly unmarred by trash or detritus from a surfeit of tourists. Ocean water was clear, shallow and warm, and we even saw the occasional fish in the surf. The apartment itself is beautifully appointed and furnished. Located only a couple of minutes walk from the beach, the swimming pool, and the reception / Thai restaurant. Views from the windows and balcony were marvelous. We were very happy to have the use of the fridge for chilling supermarket-bought beer and juices. Good air-conditioning, a wonderful bed with loads of pillows and the jacuzzi bathtub were a lovely bonus! The resort's Lanai restaurant offers an a-la-carte menu with good Thai food at decent local prices, but the alcohol costs a fortune and their weekend buffet dinner menu leaves a lot to be desired!). Breakfast was actually included when we checked in, which was a pleasant surprise, but don't expect too much if you go down to breakfast after 9:00am. The only downside to this apartment is the poor quality of internet access. The apartment itself does not offer internet access, and guests need to walk to the reception (4 minute walk) in order to access the wifi. However, the reception wifi was very limited - too many resort guests trying to use it all at once - and the network actually crashed completely for the last two days of our stay (making check-out a very tedious process!). Despite that, we'd definitely choose to stay there again if we're ever in the area.

We had just finished a ten day tour through the rainforests of Borneo and this apartment on the beach was our reward for all the hard work! We stayed three nights and it was absolutely lush. It is on the first floor of the Pool Villa block directly facing the pool and sea. The apartment is really rather large, with a great kitchen, bedroom and massive bathroom space. The owners (Molly and Duncan) were really helpful with the booking, payment and tips to help our stay more comfortable. If you decide to stay here, visit the Ting Hong supermarket on your way out of Kota Kinabalu and stock up on snack foods, cheeses, cold cuts, whatever you like. It was nice to cook while we were on holiday, but if you are not into that, there is one restaurant and bar at this location, or you can head down to the Nexus Resort and access all of the restaurants and bars over there. We really liked how quiet and chilled out it was here compared to the Nexus. The beaches were better maintained here and the beach was often quiet due to there being less guests. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back! Great for chilling out, family holiday or a romantic getaway! To check in, you just go to reception and show the booking form from Molly and you check in as you would in a hotel, very easy. The people at the complex are just so lovely and among some of the friendliest people we have ever met on holiday!

The room is filled with just what you need for a relaxing get away. A jacuzzi tub, a steamroom bath shower, an island kitchen, a balcony with seaview, a comfy bed and waking up in the sound of sea wave, it's a paradise. Apartment is very clean and fully equipped. Value for money. I had a wonderful stay with my spouse. Will come back again~
