Holiday Rental House
A family home in the typical village of La Roque Alric in Provence. The house is situated on a large property surrounded by almond trees, olive trees and with an exceptional view across the Dentelles de Montmirail. A quiet spot for a holiday with friends or family. Close to the Mont Ventoux, the location is ideal for ramblers, cyclists, rock-climbers and bikers alike. There are several places to go swimming: choose from the open air swimming pool in Beaumes de Venise, Lac du Party or the manmade beach in Mortmoiron Various possibilities to visit famous wine growing villages such as Gigondas and Chateauneuf du Pape or well know historical sites (Avignon, Orange, Vaison la Romaine or Roussillon).

We enjoyed 2 weeks at Lou Pasquie in unseasonal 30C plus heat and were really glad of the shade in the garden in the heat of the day. The house is very comfortable and well equipped for cooking. The bathroom is great and the shower is excellent. The village is so quiet almost all the time, save for the church bells which chime from about 7.00am to 8.00pm. We liked the fact that this is clearly a family home with beautiful drawings and paintings done by (?) grand-mere adorning the walls. While we were there we ate three times in the restaurant at the top of the village - very acceptable food. We enjoyed driving around Les Dentelles exploring the little villages and had good guided tours in Avignon and Vaison La Romaine. The theatre at Orange is a must-see as are the local markets (try Bedoin). Beaumes de Venise nearby can supply all food needs if cooking and there are good restaurants everywhere. (Cote Vignes down the road was good as was Auberge St Roch, Beaumes de Venise.) One or two negatives which did not spoil our visit: the double beds are French small doubles, too small for me, so I decamped to a (rather uncomfortable) single in the twin room. There were no replacement sheets provided after the first week, so we borrowed from the unused beds rather than washing sheets - not a holiday activity for us! There were some biting little mosquitoes around so take some repellant lotions. And a pool would have been welcome but we were not expecting such a heatwave!! All in all we had a great, relaxing holiday in Lou Pasquie.

Lovely to hear that our family home was duly appreciated. As for the replacement sheets all you needed to do was phone our contact and he would have gladly provided you with some.

I have stayed at this house twice and can't recommend it highly enough. The house itself is clean, spacious, well equipped and comfortable with a large garden out the back and a smaller space at the front - perfect for relaxing and dining in the sun. The area is idyllic with fantastic views and plenty of nice quiet pathways to walk along. If you're in to rock climbing there are lots of stunning areas nearby with natural rock faces that are popular for this activity. The towns and villages around offer many delightful bakerys and restaurants - a particular favourite of mine is the small take away pizzeria in Beaumes de Venise. The region produces many wines which of course are a delight to sample. I look forward to visiting this wonderful spot again in the future.

We had a lovely time in Isabelle's house. It has a spacious, airy feel, with wonderful views over the Dentelles from the garden and bedrooms. For those who like to cook, the kitchen is really well equipped. If you prefer to eat out, try the restaurant in the village where both the service and food are excellent. There is also a nice restaurant with great views in the nearby village of Lafare. If you like walking, walk from the village to Beaumes de Venise where there are good shops (lovely boulangerie). It's nearly 5km and quite steep but the countryside is beautiful so it's worth it. Back at the house there is plenty of outdoor furniture to enjoy the garden with lots of sunny and shady spots to while a way lazy afternoons. There is lots to do and see in the area: numerous pretty villages, Avignon, cycling, walking, swimming in lakes - but you could easily while away a week relaxing in the gardens of this lovely house.

At the beginning of July we spent our family holiday on this beautiful and calm place, which is surrounded by amazing nature and vineyards. The house is fully equipped and we had all we needed. Everything was super clean. The garden was maintained and also garden furniture was available so we could sit outside and enjoy the spectacular view on the mountains and sunset. There is plenty of possibilities how to spend your leisure time, for example, hiking, small trips to the adjacent towns or visit to the local market. Another big plus was a great communication with the owner and quick and flexible arrangement of the arrival and departure. Moreover we got exact information about the accomodation before we arrived. It was our first time in Provence but definitely not our last. I would recommend this lovely place to everyone who wants to spend a paceful holiday in beautiful nature. The family house Ouborne is just perfect for that. Thank you!
