Part of historic Wheathampstead Place, owned by two former Prime Ministers, our first floor apartment is modern, light and airy with 2 good size bedrooms (super-king and king beds which can be split into singles on request) with a master bathroom and second separate toilet. Parking for 2 cars. They are next to our home and well cared for. The apartment includes an Aqua-Lisa smart rain shower (thermostatically blended water temperatures controlled at the touch of a button), coffee machine, LG Smart TV, decent wifi, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, built in wardrobes (both bedrooms) and small garden at the front shared with the ground floor apartment. Both the Super King bed in the master bedroom and the King bed in the second bedroom can be made into single beds on request. The location was perfect for visiting family with my grandfather actually born in a house in the village. Jannine was very helpful and prompt with dealing with an error that I made when booking the dates and quickly corrected this for me. Clear arrival instructions....More

We are lucky to have had family stay here twice now and couldn’t fault it. We don’t have enough room for them to stay with us but this is like a home from home. Great location service and facilities just perfect.

About the neighbourhood
We are in the centre of the village, a short walk to a couple of good pubs, several restaurants (Indian, Chinese, Italian, Thai, French), Tesco Express (6am to 10pm), a very good bakers, Post Office etc. A popular playground is nearby and an excellent walking/running/cycle path starts right by the house. For those keen on fishing we are next to the river Lea and I'm told it's a good spot, so bring your rod!
Getting around
We are 15-20 minutes drive from Luton airport. Very frequent and fast (20-25 minutes) trains into London from Harpenden or St Albans. There is a regular bus service to St Albans, Harpenden and Luton as well as a good taxi service. Uber is great for coming back to Wheathampstead from central London at the end of a long day. From central London, without traffic, it's 40-45 minutes.
