The IRIS apartment is on the ground floor of a characteristic barn on the farm estate of Podere Albereto, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside on the rolling hills above Florence, overlooking the San Polo in Chianti valley. The estate of 10 hectares of fields, olive groves and woodland is only 13 km from Florence and 2 km from San Polo in Chianti. At 350 metres above sea-level there is a gentle breeze in the evening so air-conditioning isn't necessary even in the height of summer. Perfect

Very nice rustic place to stay. Beautiful area and the most wonderful hosts you can imagine. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Try the homemade olive oil an taste the real Tuscany.

The little town San Polo in Chianti is situated in north- west Chianti, surrounded by hills of about 700 metres. It is an area known for the cultivation of Giaggiolo (sword lily - a plant used in cosmetics) , the Gallo Nero Chianti wine, and extra vergin olive oil. The village of San Polo is 2 km away. Here you can find a restaurant, a bar, two small supermarkets, a post office, and a bank. The valley overlooking San Polo has a wonderful landscape of undulating hills leading to the river Arno and historical monuments such as the old church of Rubbiana (13th century).
