Here Are A Few Kind Words From Our Past Guests:
“Our stay in the bungalow was exceptional. The neighborhood is amazing, the house is a jewel, and Henry is the perfect host.” - Andrew
“If you are a fan of American art, culture, and architectural history, you will enjoy the house, its furnishings, splendid yard, and the neighborhood.” - Phyllis
“A unique and comfortable stay. Retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, without really leaving the city. Quiet but accessible, this retreat is everything that is advertised and more!” - Jason
From the minute you walk in the front door, you’ll be swept into another era. The bungalow has been restored with the finest details, including arches, columns, original pendant 'waterfall' lights, and lath and plaster walls.
Even with all the nostalgic decorations and features, you’ll still get modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi, washer, dryer, dishwasher, and off-street parking, to make your stay as pain-free as possible like you are right at home.
Choose from 2 spacious queen bedrooms in the bungalow. Consistent with the theme and era, the rooms are decorated in simple elegance, with bedside lamps and a chair. We call one of the bedrooms the “Plate Room” for its collection of women’s fashion throughout the centuries. Get a good night’s sleep on plush hotel-grade mattresses and luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. There’s also one sofa bed in the den that will come in handy if you are visiting with children.
The two bathrooms are pristine. The en-suite bathroom has a tub, shower, sink and toilet. The Master Bath is a traditional arts and craft bathroom with beadboard and an original square tub with shower. It also includes a towel warmer to keep you toasty or dry your towels. We provide luxurious custom-made Erewhon Retreat tea olive soap, made from the Tea Olive plants found around the home. The soap is soothing on the skin and simply delightful.
We supply toilet paper, shampoo, makeup remover, free laundry & detergent for your convenience.
Even the backyard invokes feelings of another era, when gardens were a sense of pride for homeowners. Meander through the well-kept yard, smelling and enjoying the vibrant colors of the numerous native Florida plants. Grab a book and find a spot of shade under the 90-year-old camphor trees and laurel oaks. In the evening hours, guests of the both the cottage and the bungalow gather on the deck, swapping stories of the day.
Or truly unwind and soothe any weary muscles with a Swedish massage; we have a massage therapist that makes house calls for our guests.
There’s nothing like the warm, welcoming feeling that greets you at the door after a long day at the office. So why sacrifice that feeling when you’re vacationing?

Beautiful place. We felt we were back in Europe in a vintage house. Really enjoyed the vegetation around the house. Very safe neighborhood. The host was very accommodating and cares very much about cleanliness and the environment.
