We can provide a cot if required too. Upstairs there is a fitted bathroom with combined bath / shower. Guests are welcome to use our large garden but children need to be supervised at all times as there is open water (a seasonal lake, island and pond), plus a dam and rocks. We have a dog, cats and chickens but with animals on-site, we're unable to accept pets at Field House Cottage. More

A beautiful cottage in every sense and an ideal base for exploring the Roaches and surrounding areas. The cottage is very well equipped and shops are just a few miles away in Leek.

About the neighbourhood
There are lots of outdoor activities to experience during your stay in the Peak District National Park including abseiling, caving, climbing, cycling, hiking, horse riding and running. For watersports and fishing, Tittesworth Water and Rudyard Lake are just a few miles away and also offer great birdwatching as does nearby Coombes Valley RSPB reserve. Whatever the weather, there's plenty to see and do in the area. Nearby places of interest include Alton Towers, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Trentham Gardens and World of Wedgwood, to name just a few. And there are many other beautiful areas of the Peak District close by, such as Dovedale, Lathkill Dale and Monsal Head, for you to explore.
Getting around
The cottage is located in a rural area which is not on a bus or train route so a car is highly recommended. Nearest bus stop is approx 1.5 miles away (Hanley - Leek - Buxton). Nearest train stations are Buxton (10 miles away), Stoke-on-Trent (15 miles away) and Macclesfield (17 miles away). Nearest airports are Manchester and East Midlands. Hire cars can be picked up at the airport and Stoke-on-Trent train station.
