L'Ecurie Cottage is part of a 17th century Courtyard building within the estate of Chateau la Trousse. The cottage is cosy and inviting, a large arched window floods light into the main living space. The open plan ground floor has a full Kitchen with dining and comfy seating areas. On the 1st floor 2 bedrooms (double and twin) share a bathroom, the 2nd floor has an attic bedroom with en-suite. Many original features have been kept exposed - 19th century arched brick ceiling laid in a herringbone design, floor tiles, windows and 17th century structural stone walls and oak beams all add to the historical feel of the cottage. A private terrace space to the front overlooks the gardens and the private rear terrace is inside the cobblestone courtyard. Both terraces have tables & chairs to enjoy ...L'Ecurie Cottage is part of a 17th century Courtyard building within the estate of Chateau la Trousse. A private terrace space to the front overlooks the gardens and the private rear terrace is inside the cobblestone courtyard. Both terraces have tables & chairs to enjoy a meal or a bottle of local champagne and with 40 acres to enjoy you could picnic somewhere new every mealtime. Chateau la Trousse is a shared environment of privately owned properties, some permanent homes and some holiday homes. The communal gardens have walkways and benches to sit and enjoy the peaceful views and these include the main, side and front Chateau gardens, the walled Kitchen garden with 19th century glasshouse, the woodland/spinney, the walled orchard with a variety of fruit trees, the walled pool garden and additional grassland outside the entrance gates. L'Ecurie Cottage offers ideal holidays for families, when the pool and gardens have been explored there is still Disneyland (30 minutes drive) and central Paris (40 minutes by train). Couples/adults visiting can also join the Champagne routes within 15 minutes drive or visit Reims and Epernay (45 minutes drive) to see the world famous Champagne caves. The area also has historical World War sites, impressive cathedrals and architecture, world famous Castles, close to the river Marne for water sports, fishing, boating etc and a good golf course close-by. Many previous visitors describe exciting, hectic days sightseeing and comment on how good it feels to return to the calm of the cottage, stroll round the gardens and take a seat in-front of the Chateau to watch the sunset.More
