We are open year around. There is great area snowmobiling, ATV-ing, nature hiking, hunting and fishing in the surrounding public lands and waters. Excellent walleye, northern pike, crappie, sunfish and perch fishing is available. Waterfowl, grouse, white tail deer, bear and wild mushroom hunting is also very good in season. We also offer both summer and winter guided fishing adventures for an additional fee. We use a 20 foot Lund Alaskan boat powered by a 115 hp Yamaha out board motor for open water. The boat easily seats three anglers plus the guide. We then use a tracked- 700 Polaris Ranger with crew cab, to access area ice fishing lakes. This vehicle also easily seats three people, plus the guide. We offer both full and half day trips. Dark house spearing and angling shelters are available for hard water fishing. The cabin was perfect for 7 people, it reminds me of camp as a kid. In the cabin you'll find a kitchen with a wide range of cookware and electric stove. The lake was a 1 minute walk away on a trail behind the house, there you'll find a dock and lots of activities. Tony was a wonderful host and would come down to check if we needed anything.

Secluded rustic cabin in the woods right on Lake Dixon. Solitude and fishing is abundant. The cry of the loons alone makes it worth every penny. The cabin is rustic but comfortable. The host is fantastic and friendly. Fishing is good, kayaking is good on this lake and the few boaters seem respectful of those on kayaks/canoes. Highly recommend if you are outdoorsy and do not need/want to be around others as it is about 15+ miles to nearest store/restaurant/bar. I know I'll be going back!

We booked at Fort Dixon after struggling to find an available cabin. We found an amazing retreat from the hustle and bustle of a chaotic vacation. We enjoyed the lake, cabin, property, etc. We could not have asked for a more amazing experience. The fishing was great right off the dock and what an amazing family. Tony's family was helpful and super sweet. Thank you for all your help and we look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful, quiet cabin, European in design and full of north woods nostalgia. As a family of six we were happy it was so affordable, and pleasantly surprised to find there was much more. The cabin was clean and well-kept, warm, cozy and roomy enough for all of us. With wildlife all around, we had campfires each evening and hiked during the day. We're thankful for a great fishing tour on the big Winnie and anxious for the walleye dinner tonight. The hosts were fantastic, super friendly and made sure we had every comfort. We hope to return soon. Thank you very much! Sincerely, the Thompson Family

Only my second winter trip here (going again 2018) with a group that has been coming for years, both winter and summer. It is our base camp as we travel to area lakes ice fishing for a week. This cabin is ideal for our group, large enough for us all to have room for our gear. The large fireplace allows for additional heating, but more importantly, for drying our gear after a day on the ice. Ample sized kitchen, cable TV and a nicely decorated cabin are some of the other amenities. The owner Tony is extremely helpful with information, and even accompanies us when his time allows. Super nice guy...Is in close proximity to numerous lakes that we travel to in pursuit of the finned one.
