Still civilized and manicured, comfortable and cosy, this small community has wide road where you can bicycle to the adorable town or along the shores the lovely Japanese inspired lake, the classic boardwalk with its charming gazebos, and the two imposing Pavilions, flanking each end of town, that offer a lovely rooftop porch with rocking chairs, yoga classes, children classes and much more, well as private lockers, pristine seawater swimming pools, diving boards, a beach shop and other amenities. Our house is a lovely brick 1920 Dutch colonial, keeping it cool in summer, with French doors opening to the breezes, a sea view from the dining room, filled with antiques, totally renovated in 2013 with new windows, baths with Kohler fixtures, designer wallpaper in the bedrooms, a beautiful Carrara marble kitchen, 100% cotton high end linens and this year new porch awnings and furniture. Elegant white everyday dishware and a set of ivory Wedgwood. We use 100% green cleaning supplies. The house and garden are on a double lot, so the grounds are spacious and private. The house has central air and heat, an outdoor shower and comes with a coveted private locker at the North End( we are a three-generation Spring lake family and these are passed down through generations!) , 5 badges (value $10,000 for the season if purchased separately-beach passes are $20 day individually), beach supplies (12 towels, 5 chairs, an umbrella). An awninged side porch is the perfect spot to relax, and a back deck with umbrella and stainless gas grill makes al fresco dining carefree and pleasant. The garden has apple and plum trees, butterfly bush, mock orange, and hydrangeas, roses and peonies, among other plants. This is a place for deepest relaxation and the lighthearted joys of a beach summer. A sweet place, green and lush, where memories are made. More

About the neighbourhood
Spring Lake is a leafy, gracious, elegant village which still has its huge Victorian mansions from the last century and a pristine beach with a lovely boardwalk dotted by shady gazebos or strolling by the sea. It's flower-filled small, boutique- filled village is only 4 blocks long but has two chocolate shops, a real 5 and 10 ( with penny candy-- well, nickel now!), three ice cream places, some lovely clothes shops and family-friendly restaurants. Everyone uses bicycles on the wide, quiet streets, to go to the beach, or town, or to fish at the pretty, manicured lake in the center with its Japanese bridges and swans sliding about. The beach is flanked on either end of the town by two large pavillions, The North End one completely rebuilt after Sandy, with fantastic sea water pools, di...
How to get there
We do take the train from NY and walk to the house and then use bicycles to get around, and you can manage fine for a weekend with a few people. Shopping for a large crowd however is a bit far by bike- the A& P on 71 is our preferred market, spot you need a taxi o or car for that... Plus you need a car if you go golfing , or want to try some of the day fishing boats out of Belmar, or go to have a great Italian meal at Mazzetto in Spring Lake Heights. From NYC take Holland Tunnel to NJ Turnpike, change at Exit 11 to Garden Satte Parkway, get off at exit 98 to SPRING Lake, one mile after exit at roundabout, go 9 o'clock to route 524, and then 3 miles into Spring Lake, cross railway tracks, take a right on 4th avenue, right again at Brighton and we are second house in on right.
