It is one of the largest beachfront rentals on the east coast. A private estate in a gated community, it is located on a twenty-two acre wildlife preserve at the tip of the island. Here, you can converse with nature, watch deer, fox, and rabbits in their natural habitat, all the while enjoying a spectacular three hundred and sixty degree view of the beach and the Shallotte inlet. You can even see as far as Ocean Isle Beach and the Intracoastal Waterway. The house itself is, for lack of a better word, spectacular. It will sleep between up to 50 guests in one of its 16 large, well-appointed bedrooms. It features two oversized suites along with 5 other bedrooms equipped with king size beds. There are seven bedrooms furnished with both a combination of queen beds as well as queen and single configurations. Let the kids enjoy their midnight pillow fights in one of the two bunk rooms, outfitted with both double and triple bunk beds. One bedroom is also HANDICAP accessible with a handicap bathroom. The house's 17 bathrooms guarantee that no one ever has to wait before they grab their shower. In addition, the convenient elevator gives those tired knees a rest from all that beach volleyball. There are two huge living spaces on each floor plus a secondary living room on the first floor. You'll find yourself spending lots of time in the breathtaking over-sized great room. It boasts windows on three sides of the house that serve to bring the outside in. There's also a separate movie/game room featuring a large HDTV, game table and foosball table. Speaking of TV's, you'll think that you are in Command Central. There are a total of 18 televisions throughout the house. Large TVs are installed in the common areas with smaller sets in each of the bedrooms. Premium cable service is provided for the 2 common area TVs and Roku for the bedroom TVs. If you want to catch a late night flick, choose from a collection of over 30 popular titles to play on the provided DVD players. If you want to surf the internet, or perhaps just catch up on a little late night work, a blazing 400 Mbps of WI-FI access is available. The upstairs movie/game room has a kitchenette (sink, microwave, drink refrigerator) and is a great hangout for the kids or to hold a breakout session with your church or club members. But when it's time to really showcase your culinary skills preparing all that freshly caught seafood, you're going to want to pull out all the stops and put the extra-large kitchen to work. The three refrigerators units keep everything fresh and cool while the 10-burner cooktop, 3 ovens and two microwaves let you try out your latest recipes. You can bask in the sunshine beside the large private pool, which can be heated when those nights get chilly (extra fee). With the beach having an east/west orientation, you get to see the sunrise and sunset and not loose the sun at the pool in the afternoon. When you're tired of working on that tan, you can pull your chair over to the covered area on the large pool deck. This will get you out of the sun but still allow you to keep an eye on the kids in the pool. After the sun goes down, it's time to grab a drink at the Tiki Bar, turn on the music and get out on the large built-in dance floor. Or challenge someone to a game of Bimini Ring Game or Corn Hole. This area is well designed for large group gatherings and the presence of two gas grills make food preparation easy for any type of event. There are two full service laundry rooms equipped with washers and dryers, to make it easy to get all that sand out of your swimsuits, and if you're worried about having too many on your guest list, there's parking available for up to 24 cars. Tired of those reverse floor plans with all the walking up and down? Have the common area integrated with the outside/pool area for better outside use and flow. Kitchen and great room on the elevated first floor with deck stairs to pool. As you sit and relax, watching the sand and surf, from one of the double level decks on each side of the house, you see why Holden Beach has been nationally recognized as one of the premier 'Family Beaches in the USA.' You will also make a mental note to return and experience 'Southern Charm' as often as you can. Just right for your family vacation, reunion, church retreat or event. All this for less than what a nice hotel would charge on a per room, per night basis! With the 8200 s.f. of space, private pool, and ocean right in front of you thrown in! Whether you need a 13, 14 or 15 bedrooms or more, 'Southern Charm' has it all. Important Info: Sunday to Sunday rental during the summer (great so you don't hit the typical Saturday rental turnover traffic). Weekends are Thursday to Sunday. Great place for a group retreat!

Our Sunday School class spent a wonderful weekend at Southern Charm. The accommodations were roomy and comfortable. We would definitely rent here again.

Beautiful home, Beautiful view.

We booked this home for our women's retreat for our church. Very comfortable. Beautiful views. Loved it. Very relaxing. The pool was great but we did not use it cause it was in March and it was freezing outside. Great house, we highly recommend.

The best beach house!

We could not ask for a better place to stay! It has everything we need: Large kitchen, plenty of rooms, heated pool, large gathering room, beautiful view, oceanfront, large porch with rocking chairs, and quaint location on the southern tip of Holden. The perfect getaway!
