Seatallan Apartment sleeps 4 + 1 and is located in the Wasdale Valley, within the Lake District National Park Nestling amongst breathtaking scenery, the apartment is only minutes away from Scafell Pike and Wastwater (Englands highest mountain and deepest lake). You can walk directly from the apartment up to a hidden mountain tarn, Greendale Tarn to experience superb views over the Wasdale Screes and the Western Fells. If the visibility is good the Isle of Man can be seen rising up from the Irish Sea. Greendale Tarn is the source of a stream that tumbles down Greendale Gill (in between Buckbarrow and Middle Fell and runs behind the apartment), with waterfalls and rock pools and little islands, on its way to Wastwater about ½ a mile away. Greendale Tarn is the source of a stream that tumbles down Greendale Gill (in between Buckbarrow and Middle Fell and runs behind the apartment), with waterfalls and rock pools and little islands, on its way to Wastwater about ½ a mile away. Our children and our visitors children have spent many happy hours playing in the stream or in the shallows of Wastwater. Seatallan Apartment is perfectly placed for exploring the high fells, the Wasdale Valley floor and the Wastwater Lake shore. The view from the banks of Wastwater, looking towards Wasdale Head - Yewbarrow, Great Gable, Scafell Pike and Scafell - has been voted 'Britains favourite view' in a nationwide television poll. There are excellent pubs nearby in Nether Wasdale, or Wasdale Head. You can walk to Nether Wasdale (about 2 miles on foot, or 3 miles by car). Walking to Wasdale Head is possible but we would normally drive (about 10 minutes drive, winding along the edge of Wastwater and deep into the valley). Local shops and amenities are available in Gosforth and Holmrook (about 10 mins drive). Other attractions include Muncaster Castle (including the owl sanctuary), the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, Eskdale Golf Course and the beautiful beaches of Drigg, Seascale and St Bees a short drive away. Further afield there is shopping in Whitehaven or Workington and the other western lakes, such as Ennerdale may be easily reached. Keswick, Carlisle and Windermere are also easily reached by car (about 1 – 1 ½ hours drive). This comfortable ground floor apartment provides open plan living with three bedrooms (one rather small and best suited to a child or short fell walker), a shower room and a shared enclosed garden, along with parking for two cars in a private car park across the road. We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the scenery that seems to change with every cloud and rain shower that comes along. The cottage is situated in an almost perfect spot as long as you watch the sheep on the road. Well equipped and...More

Fantastic location, well equipped apartment. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of private parking. Dog friendly. Only downside being, nowhere to dry out clothing. Bathroom has excellent radiator, but that wasn't enough for 4 people's towels, boots and clothing. We were lucky with the weather, but the radiator...More
