Brambles at Alderwood Lodges, is situated on the edge of Garboldisham village, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border by the Little Ouse river. It has a king size bedroom en suite & a twin room and another bathroom. We have 3 lodges (Hawthorns, Brambles & Burnside), all set in tranquil 9 acres of woodland & grassland area with wildlife surrounding. A bird hide is on site for all guests to enjoy, with maybe spotting the kingfishers on the river and even on rare occasions the otters. This is a great place to stay for wildlife lovers and anyone who enjoys peace & quiet. Children will love building dens in the wood and dogs will enjoy walks on the site. We normally only accept 2 dogs per lodge but could be flexible if small dogs but please enquire first. Please note that we do not have an enclosed...Brambles at Alderwood Lodges, is situated on the edge of Garboldisham village, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border by the Little Ouse river. This place has everything you need for a great stay in the Norfolk countryside - the lodge is big, warm and welcoming. The views from the verandah are beautiful and the birdspotting opportunities fantastic. And it's an easy walk from the Fens, and from Garboldisham village, with its brilliant community pub and shop.

My family visited on 27th July for a weeks sumer holiday. Leigh keeps these lodges beautiful , so clean and everything you could need. We stayed in brambles which is 2 bedrooms all with bedding and towels . Our room was king-size with ensuite. The kitchen was very modern with dishwasher and washing machine. The living room had patio doors which opened out onto the veranda complete with patio furniture and bbq. This place is a little bit of heaven. We visited many places across Norfolk including Africa alive , the Broads , Cambridge and Norwich. I highly recommend this lodge and we will return.

Our every comfort was catered for from modern appliances in the kitchen, (including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer) to two well appointed bathrooms. The showers are divine! Immaculately clean throughout, the lodge was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The visiting wildlife kept us well entertained but if you’re looking for more there is a wealth of information on activities, walks, local attractions and places to eat kindly provided by the owners. For rainy days there are two tv’s, games, puzzles, dvd’s and interesting books to while away the day. We enjoyed our stay so much we immediately booked again for next year.

We have just spent a week at Brambles Lodge, Alderwood Lodges. It really is like in the pictures & better. Everything you need has been thought of. So peaceful, we had a really relaxing week. The grounds are a hub of wildlife. Loved seeing the muntjac deer. The bird hide is a brilliant little place beside the river. Mixture of weather. We took the dog and found plenty of lovely walks. Knettishall Heath Country Park and Redgrave & Lopham Fen were really lovely places to walk. We even did Knettishall in the rain! Other places are accessible within about an hours drive including Grest Yarmouth & the Broads. Definitely recommend. Thank you to Leigh & team, hopefully visit again in the future x

This is our second visit to Alderwood Lodges, the first being in March this year when we stayed at Brambles. it is an ideal place to come when you just want to 'get away from it all', peaceful and tranquil with everything you could possibly want provided in the Lodge. There is a an abundance of wildlife to be seen here and it is perfect for people who love peace & quiet. Leigh is extremely helpful and we will definitely be coming here again in the future

Brambles Lodge in Diss Norfolk, is based on a large woodland area along with two other lodges. If you want peace, quiet, privacy and natural surroundings, then this is the place for you. Leigh, one of the owners, met us and showed us around, the lodge is absolutely immaculate, warm, comfy and home from home. Everything you need is provided. Showers are super, all utensils and crockery a delight. I cannot praise it enough, and the care that has gone into providing a habitat for wildlife is amazing

We stayed in Brambles 29 November to 6 December 2016 just myself and my partner and our 19 month old son. Initially we had to change the dates of our trip due to a family bereavement and Leigh was so understanding and helped us to ensure we could adjust our dates to still enjoy a weeks stay. The location is stunning, the lodge is immaculate and very well presented with everything you need provided even down to shower gel, cleaning products, bin bags, coffee and tea and some welcome biscuits which was nice after a long drive 😊 We enjoyed walking around the park itself exploring along the riverside walk and the bird hide (although we didn't get far with our son picking up every leaf lol!) and we even ventured out at dusk for a torchlight walk! There's loads of games, books and dvds as well as a box full of leaflets on places to go and visit. Due to the time of year for us we were limited and where we could go but tbh this just gives us the perfect excuse to come back! Thank you for a lovely stay it was the perfect uk break for us and our son.
