This truly lovely boutique style apartment for two/three people provides stylish ground floor accommodation for a fantastic seaside break. The Blyth has been decorated and furnished to the highest standard, with sea views from the side of the bay window. The promenade and beach are a stones throw away, and all the amenities of Southwold are on your doorstep. Your location could not be better, 2 minutes to the beach, 2 minutes to the town. The Blyth holds an independent 4 **** rating with Visit England. It is situated on the ground floor and forms part of Suffolk House and can be booked together with The Pier, The Cannons and or The Lighthouse. Please note that The Blyth also has a sofa bed, travel cot and high chair. A fantastic holiday apartment with everything you need.

This is a beautiful apartment in an absolutely amazing location; just steps from the sea and the centre of Southwold. The apartment is well equipped and nicely furnished. We were pleasantly surprised that even the on-street parking wasn’t an issue, despite the fact we were there over the Easter bank holiday weekend! The only drawback is the noise from upstairs, as others have mentioned. If the flat above is occupied, you will hear every footstep, every door open and close, every item of furniture moved, quite a bit of their conversation and even when they are running a bath! But other than that, I can’t fault this apartment for a stay in Southwold. It’s a gorgeous seaside town with everything you could wish for on a coastal break.

Well presented and decorated to a high standard this apartment offers everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. A lovely welcome pack to get you started, this apartment has everything you need from a fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking utensils, wine glasses to a selection of board games. Great location and easy check in and out. Have been lucky enough to stay in one of the larger Two bed apartments here before and loved returning to stay in the one bed which had a comfy sofa bed. Look forward to staying again

Blyth House has a great location. You’re able to just see the sea from a side window (if the cars weren’t there!!). It has everything you could want ( apart from a Nespresso machine - only joking!!). Very thoughtful and generous grocery bag full of lots of local goodies. The apartment has a spacious and airy feel and the spec is very high. Southwold is delightful and we would definitely return. We stayed in the Blyth for 5 nights in August. The apartment has a large kitchen living area which is spacious with everything you could need. It was very well equipped and there was nothing extra we needed. The bedroom is nicely decorated with a cupboard with lots of things like an airer, iron and a broom which was useful for sweeping up sand! And the bathroom was great, no problems, shower great and all was very clean on arrival. All the amenities were great and dishwasher tablets were provided too which was helpful. The detail was thought through. A lovely welcome pack was provided with beer and chocolate and a few other bits, of good quality. There were two folders with guest information and recommendations of where to eat and things to see. Parking is all on the road and is tight but you can usually find a space somewhere close so it was never a problem. The apartment is well located close to the beach, its a 5minute walk away, its so close, its great. Its also close to the town centre so the location is perfect. All the communication beforehand was clear and helpful and it was easy arriving and departing. We did find the noise from the above apartment a bit of a problem, hence not 5 stars, and I contacted the owner on the last night to discuss this. She was helpful and responded positively to my concerns. I wish I had contacted her earlier in the week as she was very keen to help me resolve the problem. It was my first visit to Southwold and its a beautiful place, and even in the midst of COVID, the beaches felt spacious and safe, some days were very hot and sunny with lots of people but it never felt like you were on top of other people. If you want a bakery or a takeaway during COVID, be prepared for a wait. You had to book some time in advance for a table anywhere but that is to be expected at the moment.

Near the seafront and good quality decor/furnishings. Welcome pack was a nice touch. Unfortunately the wifi was very poor, and the sound proofing was not great - as it was on the ground floor there was a lot of noise from people moving round upstairs. Could also do with some screening in the lounge as was a bit like a goldfish bowl.

Our third stay at the Blyth, has been great on all occasions. Nicely decorated, clean and great location between the town and the pier. The seafront can be seen from the front side window. Perfect for young children, high chair was kindly arranged for us on this occasion.

Nicely decorated and immaculately clean this apartment is close to sea and shops an ideal location. The generous welcome pack a nice touch. Lots of info on how things work and local attractions. We stayed here whilst attending Latitude Festival and it really worked well for us.

Stayed here for three nights. Great location, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean. Everything you need is provided. Lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, jam, milk etc provided when we arrived. The location of the apartment is great, just off the front/beach, around the corner from the lighthouse and the Sole Bay Inn pub. Only 5 minutes walk from town. We parked the car on Friday ad walked everywhere for the weekend. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

About the neighbourhood
Southwold Beach and Pier are a must. The Pier has a wonderful traditional arcade along with the infamous 'Under The Pier' show, and the beach is just stunning. Southwold has several lovely restaurants, and we can recommend Coasters and Sutherland House. The Crown Hotel also serves great pub food. The Sole Bay Inn, literally just around the corner at the end of Stradbroke Road serves great pub food all day. The Sole Bay Fish Company, a fantastic ‘rustic’ seafood restaurant can also be found near the mouth of the River Blyth heading on foot towards Walberswick. Both pubs in Walberswick offer great food, and the rowing boat ‘ferry’ is also a fun experience. This is also the best spot for crabbing.
Getting around
The closest train stations can be found approximately 9 miles away in the villages of Darsham and Halesworth. There are also several local taxi firms. There are two bicycle hire shops on the corner of Station Road and Blyth Road, with some lovely off road cycle paths to enjoy over the marshes towards Walberswick. The nearest petrol stations are both approximately 9 miles away, and can be found in the villages of either Halesworth or Darsham. Days out for the children include Pleasurewoodhills Theme Park, Framlingham Castle and boat hire at the Waveney River Centre. Numerous bus services also run from the town and pier.
