This superb thatched cottage is situated in a hamlet location, near Freshwater and sleeps three people in two bedrooms.Sheepwash Barn is a wonderful thatched cottage situated in the hamlet of Middleton, half a mile from the village of Freshwater. This cottage sleeps three people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one single, together with a wet room. The cottage also has kitchen with dining area leading to a sitting room. Outside there's off road parking for one car and a front patio with furniture. Sheepwash Barn is an excellent base for a couple with the whole of the Isle of Wight just waiting to be explored. Amenities: Electric central heating. Note: Although the property is set over the ground floor, there are two steps up to the bedrooms, wet room and separate basin and WC. Note: No BBQs allowed due to thatched roof. Region: The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walkers paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed. Town: Freshwater is situated at the western tip of the Isle of Wight and consists of Freshwater Village and Freshwater Bay. Freshwater village offers a selection of shops, cafes and the West Wight Sports Centre. The magnificent high chalk cliffs, rolling downs and delightful beaches at Freshwater Bay and nearby Compton Bay attract many visitors and surfers all year round.More

Lack of consideration for holiday guests
Pretty cottage in a good location with a lovely suntrap patio. Unfortunately the owners of the cottage who lived next door had 4 uncontrollable dogs who constantly barked and tried to reach our dog through the fence spoiling our enjoyment of the outside area. The owners did little to resolve the situation and we blocked the gaps in the fence ourselves with the garden furniture. Although the cottage does have off road parking, this is in front of the patio, though gates up a small ramp, with a very narrow turning point, making entering and exiting very difficult. A large car would not be able to access the parking space. On closer inspection lower levels, under chairs, sofa, skirting boards etc and also top of cupboards and curtain were in need of a thoroughly good clean.

A lovely base for exploring the island. We loved it !!
We spent a super week staying at Sheepwash Barn, Middleton. The accommodation was perfect for a small family 2+1 or a couple. A very quiet spot with very kind & friendly hosts. We are dog lovers and I am sure if our 3 dogs could speak, they would completely agree that it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. There are nice walks from here including a 10 minute stroll to Freshwater for the local pub, fish & chips and local supermarket. The parking is gated and there is a ramp to access the parking space. The beaches and other sights around the western isle are within 10 mins in any direction. The property was very cool & clean, it has everything you could want in the kitchen, a really good shower. comfortable sofas too. The wi-fi wasn't too good but the owners had reported the fault to BT and as we all know are not the quickest to react.
