About the neighbourhood
Tenterden is a picturesque market town with a tree lined high streets boasting many coffee shops, restaurants and antique shops as well as clothing stores. Tenterden is known for its folk festival in October. Pickle Cottage is located in a quiet location down a small (sometimes bumpy) farm track. It is situated within the garden of Haynes Farm, a converted barn and oast house. The garden contains a large pond (it is mostly fenced but small children need to be supervised.) Next door to Haynes Farm is a working farm and visitors can walk through the farm and see the sheep and cows. Visitors to Pickle Cottage are able to use the garden and a small private deck area outside the bedroom. The Cottage looks out onto the back of the Oast House with a large picturesque pond to the left...
Getting around
As Pickle Cottage is situated outside of the town, it is ideal for guests to have a car. Cycling into town is easy and we have a couple of bicycles we can lend you, with advance notice. Taxis into town need to be arranged in advance, as there are very few taxis in Tenterden. Search for AH Cars, Tenterden Cars or St Michaels Car Hire.
