This beautifully furnished newly-built annex is a must for anyone wanting a quiet and peaceful getaway! It is located along a private drive on farmland surrounded by the rolling hills of the traditional English countryside. There is abundant walking through woodland and open countryside from the door. Wildlife is plentiful with many buzzards, hares, badgers and woodpeckers in the area. There have even been sightings of long-eared owls, red kites and muntjac deer. The area boasts a number of country pubs serving real ales and home-cooked food. The region is steeped in history from the ancient ruins of Croxden Abbey (5 mins walk from the accommodation) to the legend of the Chained Oak of Alton, which can still be seen today. For those seeking adventure Alton Towers theme park is only 10 m...This beautifully furnished newly-built annex is a must for anyone wanting a quiet and peaceful getaway! Local amenities, along with specialist shops such as antique and art dealers, can be found in the nearby historic market towns of Ashbourne, Leek, Uttoxeter and Cheadle, where many examples of Pugin architecture can also be found. Locally there is also Uttoxeter racecourse and the historic pottery hub of Stoke-on-Trent plus many more places of interest – too many to mention!More

We stayed for four nights at this lovely annex which is in a great location. It is about 5-10 minutes drive from Alton Towers, a five minute drive to the stunning Dimmingsdale and also close to the rest of the beautiful Staffordshire countryside/Peak District. Dorothy...More
