Close to the Cheshire and Shropshire borders. The Staffordshire Moorlands and Peak district is also not far away and makes a nice day trip, particularly to Ashbourne, Ilam (25 miles) which is in the magnificent scenery of the Manifold valley with its Saxon roots and Swiss style cottages. Also try out an excellent spa day at the spa facilities and gym at Moddershall Oaks. 3 excellent golf courses all within local vicinity, one within walking distance. Lovely part of the country with excellent walks. Stone itself is a pretty little market town with Morrisons and the Co-op for self-catering needs and a wealth of excellent local restaurants, all within walking distance of the property for a nice evening out. A train station is also within a brief walking distance. Market held in the town centre with excellent local produce and delicacies. An area rich in history and folklore. Once the centre of Mercia, an ancient kingdom established in AD 665. Check out Wikipedia for an overview of Stone and some of its local history.More
