Clifftop lodge with parking at Whitsand Bay Fort

Overview
Cabin -
3 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Millbrook, Cornwall, England
High Tide is a log cabin-style lodge equipped with pretty much everything you could possibly need for your stay. It is cosy enough to be the perfect couple's retreat but also large enough to accommodate 4 adults and 2 children. Comfort, warmth and lovely views are all part of the package. High Tide is fully furnished to Visit England 4* standard, with everything you require to make it a perfect home away from home and an ideal base for a relaxing and enjoyable coastal holiday. As mentioned above, High Tide has bed space for 6 but, as you can see from the layout which is shown in one of the photos, the living space might feel a little too cosy for 6 grown-up human beings. 4 adults and 2 children would be fine and 6 adults who get on particularly well might be happy enough for a couple of nights, especially in 'typically Cornish&#3... Interaction with guests
We live in nearby Looe and I manage the property myself. You will have a code for a key safe to access the lodge, so you will be completely independent and late arrivals are no problem. We'll be available by phone in the unlikely event of any issues arising. I am frequently in the area and will always try and come to say 'hello' if I'm passing the Fort as it's always a pleasure to meet our guests.

About the neighbourhood
The Rame Peninsula is a unique destination known locally as 'Cornwall's Forgotten Corner' and is only a short ferry trip across the water from Plymouth and a few miles from the historic fishing town of Looe. While the majority of Cornwall's tourists head further west, the discerning ones save themselves hours of stressful driving and potential traffic chaos and enjoy the relative peace, tranquility and exceptional beauty of this little-known area. Many of Cornwall's top attractions are within easy striking distance, including the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and several National Trust properties, including Lanhydrock and Cotehele. The picturesque and historic fishing harbours of Looe and Polperro are 30 minutes' drive.
Getting around
High Tide is the perfect spot to enjoy the many wonders that south-east Cornwall has to offer, with the simply stunning Whitsand Bay sands just 5 minutes' walk down the cliff. The ideal place for couples to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the cliff-top location but also a fabulous base for a family holiday with plenty of activities on offer nearby. Perfectly positioned for weddings at Whitsand Bay Fort or Polhawn Fort and for passing out parades at HMS Raleigh

There is a bus service from right outside the park which goes to Plymouth but it also goes to the Cremyll foot ferry to Plymouth. This is a much more fun way to get into the city and means you can leave the car behind. Summer only there's also a ferry from Cawsand into the Barbican.

How to get there
Airport: Exeter: 65.0 km
Railway: St Germans: 11.0 km
Ferry: Plymouth: 15.0 km
A car is really necessary to get to Whitsand Bay but once you have settled in and you prefer to ditch the car there is a regular bus service into Plymouth (about an hour). The bus also goes to Cremyll where there is a year-round foot-ferry to Plymouth. We highly recommend this way of getting into see the historic sites of Britain's Ocean City and also for cinemas, etc. Another option is to take the bus to the quaint fishing village of Cawsand from where there is a ferry into the picturesque Barbican area of Plymouth (summer only).
