Craigdarroch Cottage is a quaint, newly refurbished coachman's cottage which dates back some 100 years. It is located in a peaceful spot in the centre of St Fillans in Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. There is plenty to do including walking, cycling, golfing, fishing and water-sports. Wildlife is in an abundance in the surrounding area including red deer, ospreys on the loch and red squirrels. Each season brings its own stunning scenery and provides fantastic photography opportunities. The cosy cottage benefits from a loch view which you can enjoy while relaxing with your feet up in front of the wood burning stove after a day in the Scottish countryside. The living area is open plan with a kitchen, cooker island with breakfast bar, dining table and comfortable sofas surrounding the log burner. The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering.A new decking has been built which can be reached by climbing approximately 30 steps and affords a stunning view down the loch. Bed linen and towels are provided and heating is included in the rental price. A starter fire pack will be provided. Further wood and peat can be bought locally either in the Village Store or nearby Comrie. Dogs are welcome but are not permitted in the bedroom and a small fee is applicable. St Fillans Village Store is located a few minutes walk from the cottage where you can buy groceries and newspapers. It also has a cafe providing snacks, coffee, ice cream and cakes. You can purchase fishing permits here for Loch Earn. There are two hotels in the village which offer evening meals if you feel like dining out (please note they have seasonal opening dates and times). The third one has just been purchased (Aug 2013) by Arran Breweries. It is reported that it will be refurbished and facilities will include a micro brewery, bar and restaurant. The bar is now open but again has seasonal opening times.St Fillans has its own 9 hole golf course, each hole is challenging and the scenery is breathtaking. There are many golf courses to choose from the vicinity including the prestigious Gleneagles. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Stirling can all be reached by car within 1 hour 15 mins.Well behaved dogs are welcome in the cottage (extra charge applicable).Short breaks may be possible in low season or last minute. Stayed for 3 night end September, beautiful, quaint little cottage that has everything you need and was spotlessly clean on arrival. Lovely area, great views out over loch earn, nothing much in st Fillans so make sure you are completely stocked up on arrival. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

Fabulous cottage in a wonderful location. We felt so at home from the moment we entered the property. Really well equipped and what a bed!! Massive!! St. Fillans is a great area to explore from, we travelled as far as Glencoe and Fortwilliam. Our two beautiful dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay and the many walks. On a negative point, but nothing to do with the cottage, advice to other guests, I would not recommend eating at The Clachan Cottage Hotel in Lochearnhead. Very disappointing and really over priced. The only downside to our break at a five star cottage. We would love to return again. Thank you Ailsa. Tommy and Lynn Mahood Fur babies Poppy and Daisy (Mini Schnauzers).

My husband and I have had the most amazing time at Craigdarroch Cottage. From the moment of opening the door you could smell the freshness, the most spotless and best equipped cottage we have every stayed in with not one sign of any previous dogs having been there before us. No words could ever be enough to describe the beauty of this quaint little cottage which is in the most peaceful of settings, the bed is the most enormous bed I’ve ever seen and is sooooo comfortable- ticked every single one of our boxes so much so that we have made enquiries about booking a return visit, before we had even left the village - cannot praise Ailsa enough, very responsive to enquiries, queries - total experience from start to finish was faultless - the only down side was that we had to go home 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful abode x

We really enjoyed our week here and would certainly look forward to staying again. The cottage was really comfortable and we had everything we needed. The little deck area built opposite the cottage gives lovely views over Loch Earn. The location is excellent and with a little local shop and a nice local hotel for excellent meals we were very comfortable. Would we stay there again- most certainly

We stayed at Ailsa's beautiful cottage for only 3 nights and we were by no means ready to leave! We could have stayed for a week or more and next time we will. The cottage is warm and cosy with just the right amount of features and yet with modern comfort. The log burner was amazing, it warmed the cottage quickly and was very welcome after a long day's walking. The bed is very comfortable and we slept so well all 3 nights. The view from both the living room window, and the decking area are stunning. In fact, every brow you drive over and every corner you round in the area brings a new breath taking view. The cottage was spotless on our arrival and had everything we could have hoped for. Like I said, we just wish we had longer. We wi be returning on our next break to Scotland, which we are already planning. If you like walking, I highly recommend walking up Ben Vorlich. You will sleep well afterwards! 🤣

Craigdarroch Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break and has been refurbished to a really high standard. It is very clean, comfortable and dog friendly with great views over the Loch. The owner Ailsa is very helpful with any questions you have. Some great walks from the front door and a great location to explore other areas of Scotland. Highly recommended would definitely return.

Fab wee cottage, beautifully refurbed. Perfect lay out of living room with lovely view of the loch, kitchen area and bedroom. Log burner just makes it all the more cosy. Ailsa was really helpful and quick to respond. The loch is just a beautiful place, plenty of walks to be had. We had stunning weather and the wee decking area was perfect to sit in the sun with a wee wine and stunning views of the loch. Perfect wee break. Highly recommended!! Thanks Ailsa :)

A lovely little cottage tastefully refurbished with superb views of the loch whilst situated in a quiet street set back from the main road. The cottage has everything required for a comfortable stay. There’s also a lovely raised decking area where you can enjoy a chilled glass of wine whilst watching the sun set. Although not being the summer I still managed to enjoy the decking in the early spring sunshine. There are many walks nearby to suit all abilities. The area is also great for fishing and golf. Water sports on the loch are also available nearby. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Feeling so lucky to have come across Craigdarroch Cottage in our search for accommodation for our first trip to Scotland... it is everything we could have wanted and more! Ailsa was very friendly and helpful throughout the booking process and thereafter. Fantastic price for all you get - the location, the incredible views from the living the cottage, the walks around the area, the accessibility to the rest of the national park, the huge and comfortable bed, and the fact it's dog friendly! It was a luxurious base for us exploring. The log fire was a welcome bonus as we had snow towards the end of our week away, and it was so cosy sitting in front of the fire and enjoying the views. Also, the cottage is very thoughtfully equipped with all you could need, including entertainment options. The guest book and the book explaining how the cottage came to be was a lovely feature and great to read. Looking forward to staying again in the future :)
