I booked this rental with Maria weeks ago and was very excited to drive with my family to Texas (a 9-hour trip) to meet family that we found on FB for the very first time. My son is turning 18 and is going to meet his sister for a birthday gift. I communicated back and forth with Maria for weeks as she asked me for my DL. I wasn't used to that as I have a 5-start rating on Airbnb and have 5 EXCELLENT reviews. I sent them to her and my DL. This morning (hours before we are set to drive to Texas) I inboxed her to ask for a later departure time. It was only then that she told me that Trip Advisor double booked without looking at the calendar. Her place was also booked with VRBO. I called Trip Advisor and they said it is her FAULT. They refunded my money and she had to pay the cancellation fee. So very disappointing that she would not let me know this. If I had not inboxed her, would we have arrived to other people in the rental? So unprofessional. It almost ruined our weekend, but luckily, I moved fast to find us another place on Airbnb. I do not believe Maria when she inboxed that it is Trip Advisor's fault. It is HER fault and she attempted to pass the blame to Trip Advisor. I have saved the entire thread of inbox messages from her for proof of what was said. I won't ever reserve a rental with her again and you shouldn't either. Maria shouldn't be in this business if she cannot organize her property between all the places she has it listed on the internet!!!
