The property was nice but I am disabled and there needs to be railings outside the property The inside was nice but the outside needs attention. A lot of cobwebs and mold. Needs a good power washing and plant a few plants around the gardens areas. there was no internet and I had business to finish up and that was a problem.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Very peaceful and quiet location. We love the quirkiness of this property (far from cookie cutter). Enjoyed time outside on the porch, around the fire pit and soaking in the hot tub. Plenty of movies to select from to watch. We hope to return in the near future!

It was a much needed escape from the day to day hustle and bustle of everyday life. The hot tub does have jets that work so no worries there. The charcoal grille unfortunately was too rusted and broken to cook our steaks but Linda saved the day and promptly cane with a brand new grille for us to use. We had a great time hiking through Shenandoah and exploring the Luray caverns. Would definitely stay here again if we've ever in the area again. Also, the DVD collection was much appreciated on rainy days where my significant other and I just wanted a day to do nothing and relax.

The location is excellent. Overall, the owners have a good thing going but tweaking would be welcome. As we noted in other reviews, the jets in the hot tub did not work either night but the hot tub was clean and comfortable. We were locked out of the house when we were turned around 8 p.m. after a long day at a music festival. Apparently, you are not supposed to lock the bottom lock on the front door but no one told us this, there was no note taped to the door indicating that the door should not be locked, and there was no hide-a-key. Gratefully we reached the owner and waited for the maintenance man to show up; he said this happens all the time. Why there isn't a note taped to the door, I do not know. Had we not reached the owner and/ or the maintenance man, it would have been a nightmare as everything we had was locked in the house. Perhaps where the code is listed for the keypad on the arrival sheet, the owner could state, "Do not lock the bottom lock to entrance door!" The morning we were leaving we wanted to take a shower, etc, before our departure and there was no water--at all. It was running when we went to bed and we had not used water in the interval. I called the owner to let her know. We cleaned up, stripped the beds, and were going to put the dirty linens in the washer only to discover there were wet clothes left in the washer and also clothes in the dryer.
Considering we paid a significant chunk of change to stay two nights, I would expect things to be shored up a bit more than they were. I would
recommend power washing and mulching along the entrance boardwalk to tidy it up, and a fresh coat of paint on the entire house would do wonders. This property has the potential to be a gem. I offer these suggestions in hope that the owners continue to refine this property for a quality experience for their guests. I realize it is a process...

We chose this cabin based on the location, secluded in the woods but not far from Shenandoah National Park, the accommodations and great reviews. The host is super responsive which was lovely. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including everything for cooking, coffee, TONS of DVDs, games, etc. It rained our entire stay but the cabin with all of it's windows and skylights made for a magical experience! We enjoyed the hot tub both evenings and since it is covered, weren't bothered at all by the rain. If the weather had been clear we were excited to use the corn hole boards, fire pits and many seating options around the property. We drove to the National Park one of the days and hiked South River Falls trail which was only 25 mins away.
I highly recommend this cozy, quirky cabin!
